scalp treatments

i had always wondered if anyone else use to have to scratch up dandruff (before washing hair) or oil scalp (after washing hair) for their grandma, mother, aunt, cousins? omd... i use to hate it, but i did it...

...i visit my aunt in augusta, i have to scratch her head...i don't mind doing it at all, and she LOVES IT!!! i think of it as a bonding opportunity...i'd KILL to go back to the days when i had to scratch my gramma's head and grease her scalp...

I never did it but my older sister used to scratch my Momma's head every evening.

If it was summer we'd all be sitting out on the porch,while she did it.

I never really understood the purpose and often wonder why no one does it anymore.

But when you think about it, he had to be relaxing. And it was definately a female bonding time. No men around. Just the ladies, talking and watching.

Yes, I did this for my aunt. I would scratch her scalp, then oil it. I sure do miss that ole girl:(

Can't say that I have. . .or would have done so willingly.

I don't ever recall seeing this phenomenon at any of the hair salons I've been.

A scalp massage sure but flaking up dandruff?!?!?! :confused:

That makes me think about flaking dead/dry skin off someone's feet. . .neither one sounds to appealing.

every weekend i would scratch my grand father's hair before he washed it. Hell it was like a game to me to see how big of a piece of dandruff i could get....lolol bonding time exactly.

I grease Doodlebug's scalp every night, cuz her scalp is dryyyyyyyyyy...

I have not greased my own or had my own scalp greased since i was a little girl.
