Is anyone a member of one or have any experiences they can share regarding the effectiveness of them?

If approached would you be interested in joining one?

What would you hope to learn or get out of such a club?

i've been approached....

but at the time i didnt have the money to feel comfy ...doing it.

i may start one in the future....for sho!

I am not a member of one.

I do not have any first hand knowlege about the effectiveness of investment clubs. Although, it seems as if everyone has the same goals that it would work.

Black Enterprise does a spotlight of a different investment club every month. They all seem to be doing well, at least most of them. Some have had trouble and have rebounded or are in the process of rebounding.

If approached, I may join one, I'd have to learn more about the club. What's their objective? Meet the members to see if I would mesh well w/the group. I would think that it would be difficult to join one that is already established (plus your initial investment has to be as much as everyone has in the pot).

Uh, I got sidetracked. If it is a new investment club, and I am in the right place to in my life to be able to focus on my role in the investment club, AND I liked the people. Yes I would join.

I would hope to expand my knowledge of investing. As well as learn more about different investing tools (bonds in particular).

I'm not a member but there are several here in Greenville sponsored by a black women's organization.

I was approached about joining but at the time I didn't realize how small my initial investment could be ($100.00) and didn't think I could afford to be a part of it.

A friend of mine joined at the time (4 years ago) and she has a substantial portfolio.

Because this club is geared towards black women (mainly single parents) it has a conservative investment outlook, and small initial investment. However currently it's membership is full.

When the opportunity knocks again, I will definately be joining.
