"...even if it's weed, I would go hardcore right away. I can say that maybe I would try the calm and collected approach, but if I get a glimmer of denial, the heavy artillery is getting sprung! They have to know that no bullshit will be stood for on this issue. The problem is many times more harmful than in our generation, and it was no picnic then. The philosophy about it being what we used to regard a right of passage is too lenient.

And long before that, I would watch it when they first ask about what I may have ever used in my "wild and crazy days". There is no need for the kid to ever know if I have ever "experimented". We think it makes us look more credible, more hip when trying to bond, But, I think it only helps them think it is alright to get a taste for themselves.
