i eat meatless things and just love tofu...i still like cheeses, like feta, goat and sharp cheddar, and i still will eat chicken (rarely) and fish (yum!) but i drink soy milk anduse soy mayo, butter, cream cheese, etc and insist on a predominantly meatless diet...

anyone else diggin' that?

I've thought about it because I have hard time digesting red meat and pork so I primarily eat chicken and fish.

I've never tried tofu...always afraid it would not taste good. LOL :D

For real Thick...does it taste good or is it just good for you?

I have tasted it and didn't like it. Like you, I only eat chicken, turkey and fish. But I have learned to be very creative with the forementioned. :)

I Like tofu, we only drink Soy milk( lactose intolorant), very very little pork(bacon on weekend breakfasts), no red meat for me(I buy steaks ocassionally for hubby. I started trying the Boca meatless burgers, and they are pretty good.

I've never tried tofu but I love me some veggie burgers and those soy meat products are the best. . .

I know I will eventually make the shift to vegetarianism since all I eat is a little beef in rice or maybe a burger every now and then. I don't really like chicken or turkey and I generally just eat tuna raw w/pepper or Mrs. Dash and lemon juice for the protein. . .I'll use ground turkey and turkey bacon but there's soy substitute which can be used for making chili so I will have to try that the next time instead of turkey.

I've got some recipes for soy, rice and almond milk that I plan to get around to trying because soy milk is kinda expensive. . .I don't like milk or ice cream but it's important to still get some calcium before my bones start shrinking and I'm walking around humped over.

Ms. Brightness, you can get calcium from orange juice these days (added calcium) and some veggies are rich in calcium...watch for the amount of calcium from dairy products because too much can create calcium deposits that block your blood stream...also, dairy products still contain cholesteral - which all animal products do, so that's one more thing to watch for...you can get soy milk for about $1.50...westsoy is a good brand - it's cheap and on the shelf next to natural foods in any grocery store...it's not refridgerated...also, the unrefridgerated tofu is inexpensive as well - about $1.25. get extra-firm if you want to fry, broil or saute it...if you freeze it, thaw it out and squeeze the water out, it'll have the consistency of meat

I've been working on trying to get all my vitamins naturally so I do the Calcium-fortified cereals & juices and I have a supplement that is made into a drink form.

I had a co-worker that made tofu cheesecake. . .let me fool around and master that one and I'll have cheesecake every damned day of the week, forget Original Cheesecake Factory. . .well, maybe I'll still partake of their key-lime cause it's the bomb!

You would fit in quite nicely at my brothers house. He is strictly vegetarian and so is his two boys. He doesn't even eat chicken & fish anymore. His wife eats what she wants and also what they eat.

I can't seem to get with it. They invited me over to dinner once and had tacos. Those were the best meatless tacos I had ever had. They were made with a soy product and goat cheese. They were delicious.

i think it's awfully creative the way they come up with meatless products basically using the same ingredients but different textures and flavors and shapes...
