Don'ts
Never take a personal mobile call during a business meeting. This includes interviews and meetings with co-workers or subordinates.
Maintain at least a 10-foot zone from anyone while talking.
Never talk in elevators, libraries, museums, restaurants, theaters, dentist or doctor waiting rooms, places of worship, auditoriums or other enclosed public spaces, such as hospital emergency rooms or buses. And don't have any emotional conversations in public — ever.
Don't use loud and annoying ring tones that destroy concentration and eardrums. Grow up!
Never "multi-task" by making calls while shopping, banking, waiting in line or conducting other personal business.
Do's
Keep all cellular congress brief and to the point.
Use an earpiece in high-traffic or noisy locations. That lets you hear the amplification — how loud you sound at the other end — so you can modulate your voice.
Tell callers when you're on a cell phone and where you are — so they can anticipate distractions or disconnections.
Demand "quiet zones" and "phone-free areas" at work and in public venues, like the quiet cars on the Metroliner.
Inform everyone on your stored-number list that you've just adopted the new rules for mobile manners. Ask them to do likewise. Please.

ok...i can see how someone would "want" others to do this but here is what I think....number one....its my phone, my minutes, and there for my ignorat ass is gonna talk when its convenient for me. Such as shopping, banking, waiting in line, etc. I have PIMP as my ring tone...its subtle...and crazy in love for unknown callers...i keep my rings low but if ya don't like my ring...so!
now with that said....i will turn my phone off or put it on silent for church or places where its rude to be interrupted. And I don't mind folks on the phone while in line here as long as when its their turn they cut it or put them on hold and don't talk too loud.
Even with my earpiece in I got people lookin at me like "WTF" cause they think im talkin to myself. i have more...but im on the phone :D

Any one with two grains of common sense should know that.

That is what "multi-taksing" is.........doing multiple tasks at once. My ring tone is just that....mine! When I am in a public place, theaters, restaraunts, I have my phone on vibrate. If the phone does happen to ring I will check the ID and decided if the call needs to be taken. But when going in any place of worship I do not take my phone. My focus is on why I am there and that is to worship and there is no call the is more important than that or that can not wait an hour or two for me.

Not all my calls can be brief, so I may be on the phone for any length of time. I do use an earpiece but that is so I can drive and shop and "multi-task"

I have so many people locked into my phone that I do not have time to adopt any rule other than, call me and I may or may not answer.
In a perfect world these rules would work but in all reality........they do not. My rule is to be aware of my surroundings when on the phone and be aware fo what I am saying out loud because people are always listen, and that is even if your conversation is on the phone or face-to-face.

Only thing i agree with is answering a call while in a meeting and in a place of worship.
