A Commitee is needed...plan and simple....
Here's the details.......
Credit Card / Cash$$$..it all spends the same...
For a rental property...a deposit or a credit card is needed....
Same if we were to book a block of rooms,cruise, or whatever....
A (serious) committed group will keep everyone, posted and updated...... The group should consist of 10 - 12 members, who's willing to put a $100.00 on the table before Xmas....To secure accomodations...this has nothing to do with your air/bus/train fare strictly used to start the ball rolling on where we are going to stay.....(A block of rooms are much cheaper than individual rates)...
A vote is needed on where the next Hushnic is held ASAP.....I agree w/ CL on this....now is the time...
I'm also willing to put up my $100.00 to secure this.......I'm sure you're saying oh hell no!!!....who holds the money.....
CEO / HNIC....Admin....He'll have to open an account to deposit the "Hush Funds".....by December....their should be $1000-1200 in the bank , this will secure any rooms or rental...
Come on Fam....let's keep it in prospective...no necessary drama is needed, there are clubs and organizations all over the country that have memebers, paying dues, fees, or whatever....if Black Voices/Black Planet can do a cruise....surely we can....have a gathering???
I'd like to hear your thoughts, feed back and suggestions????....
Save the drama...for your mama....if you ain't feelin it...say just that!!!

Admin mentioned renting a house ala Orlando, or a block of rooms would be much cheaper.

to block off rooms in a hotel cost zero dollars... but requires a commitment with a credit card from EACH indivisual reservation to hold a room OR one night's stay charged to the card (which can be negotiated)
to acquire rental property cost the $$$ for a deposit

i got a hundred $ on the rental property
and a phone to call and a bus pass to visit hotels and speak with the sales manager to create an agreement on room blocks
i agree - if HNIC agree - send $$ to him...

Tee, thanks,...paypal...penpal...you can tell Chey's never used it...( I only thought this way so Admin could have a paper trail) of what he deposits.....no biggy...either or i guess is cool...
Hula, ..when it comes to guaranteeing a "Block" of rooms...deposits always work the best.....not to mention no one needs to put up a credit card.......maybe we could do our "Hush Live"....catered...and formal.... through the hotel(just a suggestion)...(Sea...I'm thinking about that Black Chiffon/silk jumpsuit...you've been packing Hushnic, after Hushnic..;)

And it's not like...I'm balling cause "I AIN'T"....buttera...I blow literally a hundrend in a blink......lunch, cigarettes, movies, happy hour.....you get the picture....
Holla....I'm open to suggestions, corrections, and opinions....
...I think a catered affair would be nice....

This is EXACTLY what my family does each and every year.... Actually the Committee was picked for a few/vlounteered for the rest..... and each member HAS to pay $100 whether they attend or not plus they have to pay extra reuinion prices (what they call per family dues).... I know this cause Im on the commitee for the fam reunion....;)
So Count CL in for $100 too....

so say...we vote on the vacation rental....choose the spot Brite suggested......sleeps 18...for $1800.00... for 3 nightsyou have more than half of your money...by December....Done deal.....and only other expense...is to get there......
Martha Vineyards...they have nice rentals....Tahoe,..Florida...Wherever..Jamica, hawaii...:eek: :eek:
so we now have 5 committee members
Sea, Tee, CL, Hula, Chey...that's $500.00 towards...Hush Housing!!!:eek: :eek: .......we need everyone's input so we can... land a location.....
Lets continue to talk it out.....The only way things can be decided......is to discuss it...I'm very much open to suggestions....

i do not plan on loosing $100 - deposits are always refunded ;)
however - the cost for the rentals plus cleaning fees will be divided by the number of people this spot sleeps. and if you send in money, and don't show, it's YOUR responsiblitiy to find a replacement and get your money back from your replacement... just let a hush committee member know. the list of attendees can be kept confidential until the week or two before the arrival so that any 'accounting' can be cleared up and save face on those who had to cancel.
that's my two cents...
chey, which hotels you've gone to that require $ for a block of rooms? they may require money for conference room rental to have parties. but for hotel rooms... they don't ... that has always been the responsibility of the people who are making the room reservations. hmmm... let me go ask some others'what did they do recently...

that's the entire point.
you don't put up the $100 unless you are ABLE to LOSE the $100 due to unforeseen circumstances.
and deposits are not always refundable.
