Troubles

Troubles follow me.
It's a shadow
hiding the sunlight
so I can only see darkness.
I don't want to be left behind
by the world,
so, I move on.
My smiling face camouflages
the pain inside.
It grows and festers
inside my heart,
a confined beast roaring and scratching,
yearning to be set free.
But the beast stays caged
by unresolved fear.
I am isolated,
not wanting anyone to
to be burdened by my sadness,
or anyone's sympathy or comfort.
I am stalked by my troubles.
