Not knowing what to say....
Fam, is it sometimes best not to say something?
Example: A friend of mine was fired from the job this week. I did not know what to say, so I did not say anything. I did not approach her, look at her or offer any condolences.
Why? I did not know what to say to her.
Q: Do you think I should have said something?
Q: Do you think she thinks that I'm an asshole?
Thanks...I need your feedback.

Yeah, I have been in a situation like that, where I didn't know what to say to a person and therefore said nothing....it was a mistake, and boy did she let me know it!
It was like when my mom died, I had lots of friends that just plain avoided me. It was like what happened to me was contagious, if I go around her, my mom will die too, you know?
And when somebody gets fired, that is such an uncomfortable situation, that it's hard to know what to say. In my friends case, and in my case, if my friends had come around and said, hey wanna go to lunch? Or something that would have been said on any ordinary day, that would have been great. I find that if I treat a person that is going through adversity the same way I treat them all the time, it is a great comfort.
She probably doesn't think you are an asshole admin, she probably figures that you just didn't know what to say.

Admin,
You should've said something, especially since you just ended the umeployment roll. If nothing else other than just letting her know that you'd be there for emotional support.

I think you should atleast say "I'm sorry" or "I'll keep my eyes open" or "girl...what happened"....you said she was your friend.

And just listened...

yeah you should have said:
lets go grab a couple of MGD 40's and tell the employer :fu
Im sure that would have been appreciated...... :D
Every statement or comment doesn't require a response. Sometime folks just want to get verbal.
I like to look at folks straight in the face when they say some stupid, off the wall, weak ass or crazy shit. Usually, the person will think about what they said and end up answering their own question or restate what they just said when they realize that it sounded phucked up, but that’s only if you stay silent....

Hey yall, I had just met her during our training class for this new gig I got. So, I have only known her like 10 days before she got the boot.
When I walked outside, she was surrounded by other women...no dudes were around. I did look at her and she had a sad look on her face, but since i did not want to wallow in her sorrow, I just focused on my biz and kept steppin'
I will probably never see her again in life..., but just like NFL training camp...some players get CUT from the team
