My sister came home saturday to a message on her answering machine, to paraphrase it said:

This call is for R***** H**** Sr. We need you to be on alert to return to active duty in the United States Army.

First of all he was dishonorably discharged from the military in 92 for failing 4 drug tests.

Second of all he died in 1994.

What is up with our defense department calling back dead people???

And yes they know he's dead they sent a flag, and grave marker at the time of his death.

I don't know whether to laugh or what! LOL....I wonder if we go get a call for my sister, who also was dishonorably discharged, and, who passed away 8 years ago...???

or are they go call my uncle, who, was in the military for 4 months, and was dishonarably discharged himself...from 1977!!

I'm go have to put my mom on alert!

The Pentagon makes these decisions on who to put on alert. Tastey I sure it was an honest mistake.

This is obvious a oversight that could have been handled over the telephone. Gosh, some people try to find the simplest things to complain about:rolleyes: .

Next time read the thread. It wasn't a complaint. Did you miss the little guy laughing.

Just an observation that I thought some might find interesting.

DAMN!

this was funny!

if u live in an area that has a lot of government and government agencies...you would totally understand. different departments don't always talk to each other...it wasnt till recently that the military started cross-referencing some of their databases....and that was only for NEWBIES....maybe 20 years from now we'll get it right...

*aside*
maybe if ya'll would provide more defense spending...we wouldnt be in this predicament.

*aside*
maybe if we/military wouldnt take that defense spending and spend it on high priced testing of items that never come to fruition

*aside*
those items are totally necessary ... so that we can protect and defend our country against the numerous possibilities....AND
call up the right people when necessary.

:)
