mine was comcast@home....i got an email today from them...letting me know that their partnership with excite@home...was being "worked out"

there are NO other cable modems offered in my area....and dsl is not available....

Excite@home filed for bankruptcy....

AND this morning we are down in the SF/OAK Bay Area....I called the Tech support line at 1-888-262-6300 and all I got was a recording saying that Excite@home service is bankrupt and they are trying to switch customers over to a new service...soon!!!


Everyone who has this service in the Bay Area is OUT OF SERVICE!!!

So, I'm back to Dialup! WTF?More on this later...Thanks God for NETZERO..

Ain't this a mess!!!

My cable company sent out fliers awhile back for everyone to switch over by Dec 1 in anticipation of this. How about they switched me Saturday morning and it worked for an hour. :rolleyes:

Now it's been up and down all weekend. Right now it's up but who knows what's next.

A tech is supposed to come Wednesday and try to fix the problem.

Com~cast is a Philly thing, too... But cause I travel so much, I have to use somthing that's nation~wide...

Well, I tunned in to a local tech radio show last night and they had folks calling in from as far as NYC to vent about this outage/bankruptcy.

My boy Mr. Blunt called me from Sacramento and told me that he was out of service as well. He's on COmCast cable and i'm on AT&T.

The most fucked up thing is that all customers who had email on the @home service will not be getting their email. many businesses were using the @home email addys and this will hurt their businesses.

I never used my @home email addy because I have several domains, so I am only effected by the service outage, but if I could not get to my email...I would be trying to sue!


Now the radio show is saying that the outage will take about 15 days to correct...
