It sho AINT the bank I work at...then again, ALL banks make there money off of the FEES they charge.. IMO legalized loan sharkes back by the goverment!

I am with a legalized loan shark backed by the government ( I like that analogy Sea ;) ) but I too believe that credit unions are better because the fees are generally less and you get a chance to share in the profits made.

Credit Unions here in Califronia are hard to find. I mean we have many, but they don't take you unless you work for a certain compang or group of companies...

Then you have some that will take anyone, but they do not have the BOMB customer service. No online banking, Strange business hours, there is a ATM fee to get funds from another banks machine...

I mean if you don't work or live next door to one here in cali...it's a hassel.

It's basically the same here Admin. That's why I'm with a bank waiting to be eligible for my company credit union.

But there is a Baptist church here that has so many high paid holy rollers that they have a credit union. You have to be a member of the church for a certain number of years...and have GOOD CREDIT. :p

Well one of my credit unions accept family members of a member.

I have gotten all my sisters, my mom, my kids and my brother and a few friends in my credit union and they all love it.

Once or twice a year they have a sign friends day.......but you have to come in with a member.

I just hate that banks want u to have a minimum balance or they want to charge u all these fees... Chase Bank wants to charge $5/month if your balance is under $1,500... That is so crazy.. Luckily the bank and my job got a little deal going on that I don't have to pay that fee.

the bigger the bank the better. I don't know about Cali but Harris Bank, Bank One, & Lasalle are fighting for business. I got a bank at work checking account with $0 balance & minimal fees. Check out Smartmoney.com about internet banking & they list the best banks in america.
