Why do so many people who are college educated, have great jobs, nice cars, and lovely homes revel in their ignorance???

This is usually something attributed to the "ghetto" but I deal with college educated fools everyday and it is getting on my dayum nerves.

While discussing the present situation the subject of WWII came up ignant co-worker asked:
Who was Hitler and what did he do that was so bad? Then she said Well Germany was on our side in WWII against Japan anyway weren't they. :beating

Later same day she asked another co-worker why he didn't date black women he said "I do but since I'm Puerto Rican I prefer Puerto Rican women"...she said So you're not an American citizen?" :beating

Now this woman owns 2 houses and leases real estate and considers herself to be a financial wizard. She always talking about how much money she has in this CD and that CD with whatever bank.

So I mentioned that I saw a news report about people's debit cards being stolen and the fact that most people did not know what to do when theirs was stolen. She said "All you have to do is report it and you're not liable" I said that's what the report was about that every bank does not have that policy. Debit cards are not the SAME as credit cards. If a person withdraws money from your bank...some banks give it back...some don't.
"Well when MY card was stolen I reported and I wasn't liable for anything, so I don't believe that." Uhmm do you bank at every bank in the world? Or do you just enjoy being ignant as hell. :beating I told her never mind I just thought it was an interesting report.

Ignant ass! :beating

Some people have a lot of business sense and no common sense. She sounds like she is one of them.

Why is she worried about who that man dates. Thats like asking a black man why he doesn't date white women. He may have dated white women, but prefers sistahs because he is black. Duh???

Another testament of her ignorance. She thought because of his skin color (about Soft's complexion) that he was black. He has straight black hair and has said repeatedly that he was BORN in Puerto Rico. He has some black in him but he considers himself Puerto Rican because the black ancestry is not first generation. He grew up in NY.

This man also listens to Latin music all day...and speaks on the phone in Spanish to his relatives from his desk (right next to hers).

Duh!!! :beating

You know. . .I find this funny but I also find just a bit of ignorance in myself as most people might if they're honest with themselves. . .The difference is that I might go about finding the information out on my own or I admit I don't know much about the subject.

Also knowing that I don't know shyt. . . I would keep my trap shut or say "You know I never really thought about it". That's a good way to excuse yourself from a topic you aren't interested in or able to converse intelligently on.

I think you appear far more silly when you attempt to argue or belabor points to which you have no knowledge. . .I think I'd have been tempted to slap your co-worker a time or two for some of her comments. . .She sounds like some of the people at my former job. . .you cringed everytime they opened their mouths because you knew something stupid was gonna come out.

I used to sit at my desk with a set of headphones so they wouldn't talk to me. . .and the funny thing is those headphones weren't even plugged into anything because we weren't allowed to listen to radios.

it is a very bad assumption that people with college degrees actually KNOW something!

uh...

college folks...can i ask ya'll a question....

Didnt ya'll do whatever it took to survive the test...the paper...the final...
and then....DUMP IT!!!!!!! I dumped most of my college education sometime during the summer...hey! i had to make room for the next semester.
admittedly, grad school was a lil diff.

I agree that I dumped most of the trivial information I was made to learn in both college and high school.

And like Brightness said there are often times when I find people discussing situations that I have no knowledge of. When this particular woman starts talking about her investments and her CD's and her portfolio...I shut up because truth be told when it comes to money and math I...well...I can count okay. LOL

And usually I have my headphones on with my CD playing. She drags me into conversations then looks stupid. And she is not alone. Alot of my co-workers do the same thing. That's why I buy so many bootleg CD's so I don't have to listen to them talk.

Then when they are made to look stupid because they say "Hey Gena why you got that headset on... they have to nerve to say "You think you know everything!"

In actuality I don't know a whole lot of things but the difference in me and them is that I don't talk unless I know what I'm talking about therefore not allowing my ignorance to spill out all over the floor. LOL
