You meet someone and things seem cool......the person begins to be honest with you and admits that they smoke weed from time to time......

Do you continue getting to know the person or do you leave things like they are after that day?

I guess i'm asking, would you consider a relationship with them?

I think I would have to leave them alone especially if they are a certain age. But speaking as one who in the past indulged. . .I used to keep that information to myself or maybe back when you were younger, it wasn't too big a deal.

... and for adults that havent grown up. That stuff has a powerful stink to it. Even in college, i hated having to reek of it. If you can't get a medium buzz from a drink or two, then you need to forget trying anything. I would probably not be down for long term either.

Sorry-ASS Negros....that have had the tendacey to indulge in legal and ill-legal substances.......to much drama attached to them, their heads ain't screwed on tight!!!...their perception is phucked-up, and they use such substances as escape goats...

I think the older you get the more you realize that's one of the younger ways that you put away as you mature. . .that's if you did it at all. Now, personally I did my share of dabbling but I have to look back at my mindset at that time and what I was hoping to achieve. As I've gotten older I can choose my 'fun' or 'relaxation' a little more wisely.

I wouldn't kick the lady out if she puffed. I would have to evaluate the entire picture. For example, if she has it all together, supports herself, good living standards, and/or doesn’t have a obsessive personality flaw would be the things I would be looking for before I make a decision.

I try to keep things in perspective, people with obsessive behavior is the issue. What they decide to flip on varies: food, gambling, sex, drinking, and last but not least drugs. Some obsessions are easier to spot then others, but obsessive behavior will cause you harm regardless. Granted some quicker than others, but its all the same. Bottom line not everybody can do the same things. I may be able to handle something you can not.

I know that some folks don't like smoke. That's ok, but I have heard from self-righteous people on too many occasions the down falls of smoking weed. Smoking weed slows you down, makes you stupid, is for teenagers, and makes you lazy. Mind you this comes from all those folks that don't par take. My response is all ways the same "Sooooo tell me what is your excuse as to why you are unsuccessful, under achieving, can’t keep a job and don't have a danm thing to show for yourself since you don't smoke.....:rolleyes:

It would depend on how often they get high. If it's an every once and a while thing and not done around me, I could careless.

If it's a daily habit, can't function w/o it, I'd have to discontinue my involvement.

Some people feel that meat eaters are cannibilistic and therefore don't want to have anything to do with them.

If you felt that way that's your right and your priviledge.

Now ya'll know I puff but was just having a convo with my cousin and talking about this party Sat night where I know I'll see an ex and thought about this thread. He's the ONLY person that I walked away from because he smoked too much. Other than that, everything else about him is lovely - personally and professionally he has his stuff together. You know it's bad if it's too much weed for me!:(

To me, smoking is different in ones 20's, 30's and 40's (if not older).

When I was 21, I dated a guy who's mother smoked and she was early 40's. . .that made her seem so immature and unsettled to me to be chasing a high like I was. . .hell, I wasn't even out in the real world and it was all about college, frat parties, football/basketball games and drinking. . .

I guess I just see weed-smoking at advanced age to be a hopeless/helpless addiction and a diversionary indulgence.

IMO indulging in a little weed is no different (aside from the legal issues) than having a few drinks. For me it's like deciding do I want wine or hard alcohol. Just another relaxer.

I don't think that makes me any less mature. BUT I realize that the perception is there that folks who smoke are silly-asses. Guess that's due to media and the ones that act a nut when they get blazed.

But Anyway, I have friends that smoke weed from time to time, but I won't do it...never have....but then again, I don't smoke either.

But I do buy lots of video games...I play a few of those to relax me.......:D

I think it would depend on how much they smoke and why they smoke. If they smoke a lot and smoke just to get high, then no, we couldn't have a relationship...i wouldn't work. However, I do know someone who seems to have his stuff together, he's intelligent, fun to be around, but unless he told you that he smokes weed every day, you would never know. On this level, I may be able to have a relationship with that person, I just don't know how long it would last..............
