It's a sick, twisted rumor. . . the president/CEO of ARISTA talked to Whitney personally to get to the bottom of this. He announced that she was NOT dead. . .however, he never mentioned if she was indeed treated for any overdose, etc. . . .that type of thing may have escaped the paparazzi/media in light of what's going on.

You know we heard about Bobby Brown's "middle of the night" episode a couple weeks ago lickety-split. . . less than a few hours. . .that was on the early morning radio news.

This picture was at Michael Jackson's concert last week and she looks worse now than she did at that award show back in June or July. . .not to mention that her voice is all but gone, Christina Aguillera sung Whitney's song better than her during the tribute.

You know, around noon on 9/13, I heard this from my wife at work, who had a coworker going around saying it, with no references. I checked yahoo news, and other news sources, because i knew that even with the WTC coverage, that would come through if it was true. Nothing.

I always come to this board and see hot breaking news, especially on cultural issues posted in a flash! So not seeing it here was suspicious too. It was tempting to try to be the first, that seems to be the game, but something didn't feel right.

Don't know how it got started, but i think it took on a life of it's own once it hit the radio stations. Some of these stations spread rumor as part of it's shtick for ratings. There were some bozos that spread one a while back about Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake being killed in a car accident. that rumor did make the news as a report about the hoax itself. In these times of national upheaval, there is still room for moronic behavior. God bless America.

One thing I hope comes of this. I hope this shocks her into getting help. If not the rumor, then she must have heard the buzz about her from that MJ event. Even if it's basic anorexia and not drugs, it still can kill her sure as shit. I can't even get mad at Bobby Brown, like he was leading her into this spral downward. What ever his influence, she is ultimately responsible for her own demise, itf it comes to that. She has never looked like a meek or weak kitten with low self esteem, so it's confusing how she could have come to this. Fame and fortune must be a bitch, Hallie Berry, Mariah Carey.... the pressure can get to you and manifest itself in different ways. Whitney just needs help.

I was watching Entertainment Tonight on Monday and they showed a clip of Whitney at MJ's show and mentioned that she looked like the walking dead (not exactly in those terms). They were supposed to do a follow up on her health on Tuesday night but of course for those of us that live in this area, regular network television has been a thing of the past since Tuesday. Did anyone see the story on Whitney that aired on Tuesday?

Of all the despicable actions by people as of late (the false bomb threats, telemarketing scams, etc.) this one takes the cake. Someone obviously has no heart and can't find anything else better to do than to spread that vicious rumor.

However, seeing Whitney on TV on the BET Awards and the Michael Jackson tribute had me worried. I hope this was a wake-up call to her to get help.

I didn't get a chance to see the awards, but from that picture she looks like one of the refugees from Africa. She really looks bad. Seems to me it is time for her family to intervene for the sake of her child. Bobbie Christina will be another child raised by her grandparent(s).

It's times like these that somebody needs to step in, that really loves her, and say, look you are killing yourself, and you need help. If you don't get help, steps will be taken...you have a child to consider. That is a hard line to take, but it may be the only way that she gets the help she needs.

I totally agree, there are plenty of people who love Whitney. Who are we to say that they are not trying to help her. I really hate to say it but by her appearance, it seems to me that Whitney is to far gone.

You can try to help them until they are blue in the face but it is up to them to change.

I have no way of knowing or verifying if this is true or not so take it for what it's worth.

I read on another message board a post by a woman who claims to have a friend who works in a NJ hospital. This friend states that Whitney was admitted on Wednesday due to a drug overdose. She did expire but was revived.

This woman also posted that the media missed her admittance due to the current situation in NY and the chaos going on at the hospitals in the area.

She states a hospital employee leaked the story and Whitney's publicist is covering up for her.

Just finished watching the E! True Hollywood Story on Whitney Houston. . . . Now it all makes sense why she looks like that. . . .that Bobby Brown has literally driven her crazy!

I had forgotten just how many years they have been married and how long he's been tripping. I know everyone joked here and there when something came up with them but she's been dealing with his off-beat behavior for well over 6/7 years of their 9 year marriage. While she's trying to make records, tour the world, shoot movies, have babies (and miscarriages). . .he's destroying her stuff quick as she can accumulate it.

I am all for taking marriage vows seriously and what have you, but if it came down to my very health and sanity, I would have to cut him loose despite the child. Those two are showing Bobbi Christina a highly dysfunctional union. . .it doesn't matter that you stayed married if the man is kicking your behind, in/out jail, womanizing, etc. . . .would she want her daughter to follow in her footsteps?

I am now feeling more sorry than ever for Whitney. . .:(

I saw an article in the Star saying the same thing...that Whitney had checked into rehab after an intervention from her family. Thank God!

But as far as Bobby goes, he may have contributed to her getting as bad as she has gotten, Whitney has always had issues when it came to drugs. Anybody remember her drunken ramblings at the Grammy's a few years back? Everybody thought it was cute when she forgot her speech and uttered a curse word...but who knew that it would come to this, huh?

I feel sorry for her, but not too sorry. At some point, we need to take a step back and take a look at our situation(s) from the outside. She is a grown azz woman who needs to raise those dayum blinders on her eyes. Her marriage is all fucced up and so is she.

Loving your husband is one thing, but loosing your sanity and dignity to keep a man is ridiculous. A man does not justify a woman's means. Why oh why are some women so dayum gullable(sp)? Hell, just let that nicca get the hell on and recapture your life. Holding on to him is only ruining that poor child's and her life. **shaking head**
