This is for those that have moved out from home...

When you left home for the first time and moved into your own place, what did you have?

Did you take anything from home?

I didn't have much a TV, stereo, and some clothes. Everything else I bought.

My Pops made it clear, "Don't take shit outta here that you didn't buy!"

Mama made sure her baby had what he needed. Bed, TV, sheets included.

The first time I moved out I got married. Didn't have to take anything because we got a considerable amount of monetary gifts.

I had a few things, what I didn't have, my parents merrily took me to the store, and burned up their plastic...I think they were a little too happy!!!

I had my bedroom suite, a crib for my son, anything that was mine..ie .. stereo, tv, phone, clothes..

Had to sneak in Moms cabinets for linen, pots, a couple of plates, and a few pieces of silverware.... :p

clothes..... I moved to a dorm.. Everything else is in my room waiting for my return

In my first apt in college I had a room mate so all I really needed was a my bedroom suite, she had living room and dining room furniture and my Mom gave me my bed from home.

When I moved into my first apt as an adult my Mom bought me a bed and dresser, and my roommate again had the other furniture.

When I finally moved into an apt alone I had a bedroom suite, my son had a toddler bed and dresser, and I had a TV/stereo combo. My sister bought me a dining room table and chairs. We sat on the floor and watched TV for a few months until my Mom bought new living room furniture and gave me her old.

When I moved out at 19 (two blocks away from home) I took my twin size 4 poster bed set until I could get me another one. My aunt bought my son a bed and dresser, my mom gave me her kitchen table & chairs, she wanted a new one, she also gave me her couch, chair, and tables because she wanted new furniture. I had been buying dishes, towels, etc. while living at home and eventually my parents bought me a washer & dryer.

But my first place I didnt have shit but a bed and sheets 13 in TV and a lil radio.... that was all I needed at the time....

...into a dorm that was actually a 2 bedroom apt that 4 girls lived in, so i had sheets, pots and pans, towels, etc...
