Thanksgiving Sale Shopping

Fam, did yall go to any of the early morning sales on friday??? Maaaaan! I got up at 5:15am to head over to Bestbuy and get some Blank CDs.....

The line was all the way around the corner...so I headed over to Circuit City cause they did not open til 7am, Whew! I was like number 15 in the line at 6:15 am.

The talk in the line was about the cheap prices on CDs and DVS...fools were up before the birds to get 2 CDs or DVDs for $20 bucks. I was there to get a 13" TV for $49 (regular price: $79) and a scanner for $49 (Regular price: $79).

To me, I was saving $60 ($30 on each), so that made it worth getting up and staning in the cold, but to save $10?? Man, I'd still be in the bed.

7am, the store opened and it was a mad rush! Fools were cutting line, sitting on TV sets to try to reserve one, then I noticed all the folks on cellphones...I was thinking that their friends and relatives were telling them stuff to buy.

The biggest item there was a 27" TV for $149.99 (Regularly $199) so this female keebler was upset cause they had sold oput of them in less than 15 minutes. The salesman was trying to explaint to her that they only had 20 or so of those TV's and that all of the registers in the store were able to send orders to the to buy one...Man, I thought she was gonna cry.

Anyway, did anyone else have a "Thanksgiving Sale Shopping" story??

Nope, I did leave the house at 5am though, just to get to work early.

first stop was mervyns at 7am to see if we could get a $5, $10 or $100 shopping card... we only got $5 (me and moms)

went and found SOME things, not much... mervyns sales have always been a joke to me (except when it comes to their purses)... i found anthony 2 long sleeve shirts and a half for 50% off... so i paid a total of $15 for those - the $5... :D! my mom found stockings... okay... let me explain this...

each box had 2 pair
regular price was 3 boxes (packaged together) for $12 - 6 pairs of stockings
the sale: 3 packages (18 pairs of stockings) for $15 :D

ok... and some pants which were 1/2 off, for $9.99 -$5 off :D

Let's see...

then we went to walgreens. i spent $47 there...

went to Big Lots... made a list of regular priced items that i will come back and get on payday; also bought some things there that were 1/2 the cost of what i paid for at walgreen. so i took those items back to walgreen! :D

when dad gets' back from the banky bank - we'll be on our way to best buy (though i think we'll miss the 6 hour sale) and the mall (out there by your new crib admin! :D)

I intended to go to Walmart to get the Gameboy Advanced for 49.00 and the Monolopy for $5 but I am sick today and I have to go to work later.

I've been in bed all day so I guess I didn't get to save $30 bucks.

by passed best buy since the 6 hour sale was over

went to sears and got the kids a 10 in one game for a pretty penny.

went to kmart and got ALOT of jewelry on sale for me and my mom, nieces and god daughter (her gift from me, my gift for myself)... it was 70% off. I lost my mind ya'll and still regret not getting this other ring. :( this is the first time hula bought fine jewelry for herself. i'm proud of my first purchase :D

I don't know how y'all do it, I hate shopping, crowds of people makes me dizzy.

My sister is going all the way to LA this evening just so she can shop in the Garment District.

See, I have not moved yet (next weekend :D), so I had to stop and save my cashflow, or else i would have bought up the entire world.

Two Items I resisted today were:

1. A commute car (Honda Civic) looked to be about 1989 model and all the dealership wanted was $2,395?? (I was gonna roll up in there with $500 Cash and finance the rest) I was just saying last week, that i need to get a lil put put to go to work in, and park the 6cyl Ack! and only drive it on the weekends.

2. New tires for the Ack! Lawd knows I need them, but I resisted.

Fam, I'f i had have gave in to these purchases, i would have been over the 1,000 mark for spending today.

I came home, and changed into BIG WORM and hit the streets instead. Now I'm up $110.00:D plus picked up some new product for Sat and Sunday:D

I dont know about any other walmart where ya'll are but the SuperWalmart here only had 21 gameboy advances for that price and from what i heard they came over the loud speaker and made an announcement after all those folks were in Line and said if u didnt have a ticket u couldnt get one at the 49.99 price, BUT you could get one at regular price :rolleyes: Now why would someone stay in a long ass line to get one at regular price :confused: DUH!!!!!


I was going to get up and get the $30 Turkey Fryer from Walmart but I couldnt get my ass up at 4:30am just for that.... So I didnt go....

After work I headed to the Navy Exchange to get My kids some Tims for $55....They only had one pair I needed 3 so I ended up having to get the other 2 at regular price at the Mall.... I was pissed.... So I went home....

CL that's messed up I really would have been upset if I had gotten up.

I don't know what it was like out there this year but in past years the stores here usually overstock for these types of sales so that they don't sell out.

Last year I strolled into Walmart at about 10:30 for the 6-11 sale and got what I was looking for.

The only thing is you HAVE TO BE THROUGH THE CHECKOUT by 11 or it's not on sale anymore. lol

Each year, that I can remember my sister and sister-in-law..up and out the house at 5AM.....Chey can't do that don't like shopping that much!!!..and defintely can't fight a crowd at that time in the morning...They returned with a 27" tv, clothes and some new expo game-thingy???.......Fresno full of shoppers..no need in seeing folks at such a early time in the morning....:blah: :blah:

I had to sleep in and eat some leftovers first! No early shopping for me...much later on, did hit the my friend's comic book store to get my comic fix (Daredevil, 100 Bullets and Punisher) then on to the mall with my sister, sister-in-law and the kids...picked up some MAC stuff: lipglass, liner and mascara (it's new and it's bomb and it's only $9.50!), niiiiice suede bag from Gap - only 20 bucks - and some hand-carved wooden bowls from the African Trading store. Overall, a pretty good shopping trip...

MAC isn't distributed here widely. . .we don't have Macy's etc, but they've opened a store at one mall, I may have to go there and get some. . .I love their satin lipstick in REBEL, I got that when I was in San Francisco and am addicted to it.

I checked with some friends and the stores here were OVERSTOCKED again. If I had gotten my butt up I could have gotten that Gameboy Advance for 49.99.

Also Target ran an ad that they would match ANY advertised price anywhere it town for the next 2 weeks so I'm gonna see if I can get the Gameboy there.
