Question. . . what is the difference between the strangers on the net and the ones that you meet in person, besides the fact that in most cases (for those of us that do not have webcams) you cannot see the person on the internet~??????!!!!!!

It was about children being told not to talk to strangers, right?

Well, there's still a lot of silliness associated with the net as far as porn, cyber-sex, etc. . .I still have a very hard time trying to tell people about someone I've initially come into contact with over the internet because of this.
I will usually say that I met them through a friend. . .that 'friend' being the computer. . .lol

Bright and Precious...me too...
There is no difference in types of people you meet. Just in what can happen and the control factor.
The obvious differences and truth are:
1. you are able to handle someone better without risk of being face to face if you don't want to
2. you come into contact with more strangers on the net
3. the one's on the streets can always follow you home.

Even though we've all been told at one time not to talk to strangers the fact is well all have and not just on the internet.
The days of waiting to be introduced are OVER! We talk to strangers on the street, in the club, at the grocery store. Wherever!
I think that several years ago the MEDIA made a big deal out of people meeting strangers on the net and the bad consequences but the MEDIA has YET to focus on the many people who have come together on the net in a positive light.
