What's the life span of a cd player? i have a panasonic and had it for a year and a half. I think its on the caputs...
also, why each pair ear phones i buy (lost the original ones) have a short in it 2 months later? i done bought 3 pairs of this year. i no like it.
do one have to spend alot of money on portable electronics to get long lasting usage out of it?

I don't know the answers to your questions b/c I am ALWAYS dropping my cd players and putting them back together.
But I am so feeling you on the ear phones, I always buy extra. Mine get a short b/c they are always getting snagged onto things and pulled.

You know I don't think it matters how much you spend on them, they never seem to last long...at least not if you are using them everyday (like I do).
What is the cd player doing?

i play dozens of elderly cd's and the player started skipping this week...
so i can't pin point which cd is the culprit ... lol
but that is besides the point. my question was what is the life span of a cd player.... because... if my cd player is acting jerky... i want to know if this is normal... if i have to buy a new player every 2 years or what?
i should have actually called my uncle... he is an electronic technician and knows this stuff...
thanks mel...

Sony, I picked up in 1990 at Wienstocks Closeout sale in Sacramento.
Portable, Panasonic I bought in 1998 for my first trip to raymond James stadium in Tampa Florida.
I'm happy to say tht both are still working...but they are only usedby me and no one else.
I mostly ill use the PC Cd player if I wanna hear some tunes..or copy all of the tunes to the HD and use Winamp to play from the HD after the song files have been transfered to the HD.
Good luck Hula
