Fam, 1986 I was on tour withRUN DMC and LL Cool J (I belive the first) person in Hip Hop and R&B to do this.

He would rap over the actual song. His DJ Cut Creator and I were friends, but Cut Creator pust played the actual record and "L" rapped over it. This was in case he got tired or forgot the lyrics.....

None of the other acts on tour did this, but him. Hmmmmmmm.

Now, that is Jlo's voice on the record, she aint doing a Milli Vanilli:D

Just listen to Play and her other hits..same voice. Although she never hits a high note, the songs are club songs...

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, were like the first producers to prove that you can make a million dollars off of an artist who can't actually sing:D (her name is Janet Jackson)...

That proves what magic studio equipment can make.

Just go to the studio, have a producer make some hot track, "sing" over the track, have the engineers use some filtering or echo devices to make you sound good although you really sound like shit, mix it down, then presto! u got a hit.

That's a recipe that many artists are using.
