girl this is for fed employees!

I did read an article in USA Today that basically talks about how insurance premiums are gonna rise next year. That folks should expect that any raises they get next year will be eaten up by higher insurance premium via the job.

We had this discussion yesterday with our benefits profider and was told that our company isn't affected (a benefit for working with non profit benefit providers and private companies).

Anyone else gonna be affected by this?

Anyone else gonna be affected by this? Not I, my company pays for the complete cost of insurance for the plan that I have.

Although I won't have dual coverage anymore (b/c I'll be 24 and can't be under my father's plan), so I will have a copay but it's only $3.

deductibles and % of coverages on various treatments? Do you need referrals to see a member outside your network? These are all things to keep in mind when choosing a health care plan.

But single employees w/o dependents can really get affordable health insurance without seeing too much of an impact in their pay.

I remember a time when all I worked for was to have insurance and pay daycare costs. . .I am so glad I am beyond those years.

Now all I gots to worry about is braces & most recently the possibility of glasses. . . :(

I have Kaiser for medical so my $3 will cover all that. I don't go to a private doctor, nor would I want to, but I always have the option of changing every year. And b/c I am in a union, it's still free. If I had dependents it would be $2 a week for my insurance.

Now as far as the dentistry and vision plans that's another story, I really don't know, I don't go to the dentist and I don't go to the optometrist. Hell, I rarely go to the doctor.

My plan is in this listing, John Deere....it makes me feel better that they rated in the above average range. And they rated higher than OSF, which is the big deal around here....behind caterpillar of course.

After seeing the prices of these other plans, I will no longer complain about the cost of my plan.

LOL, I did, he put me on birth control pills, so far they have been working, no pain at all. He figures I have some scar tissue, b/c he couldn't see anything when he did the ultrasound.

I am going to try to be more health concious.

My monthly premium for medical & dental is going to be just over $200 for employee +1 dependent (used to be $160ish). . .double :( . . .one of my former co-workers was paying close to $350 for employee+family. . .

One down, one to go. . .got the eye exam, diagnosis and glasses were made a reality on Wednesday. . .if she loses 'em, I'm gonna get her.

Next week, we'll see if we can't lighten my purse a little bit more with the cost of orthodontia services. . .

And her father (who WON'T pay medical/dental) talking about getting her a pre-paid cellphone but WITHOUT MINUTES for Christmas. . .

Looking on the bright side, maybe I'll see if they can melt that down into a spare pair of frames or some braces.

. . .it's one of the more easily managed costs of an employer.
