Puter Print Problems

background info that may help you puter techies:

3 radios stations

2 locations in san fran (about 6 blocks apart)

network - novell

1 color printer

software of documents printing:
1. excel
2. acct software (don't know name)
3. print now screen capture tool

mystery?:

acct and sales dept documents in location 1 are showing up on the color printer in location 2. location 1 have zero access to network printers at location 2 and vice versa.

why?

it's a mystery to the world of our IT department.

they may have to blow out the printer off the network completely and reset up all drivers on puters at location 2. wait a month and see if this happens again.

Seems like they might want to rename the printer and how about investing in a color printer at each location?

Novell has issues, that's why most companies are on Windows NT. My 2 cents.

okay, they other location does have a color printer...

the acct/sales dept are NOT suppose to be able to print on any other computer than assigned, right?

so... why is it blindly printing on this ONE network printer at location 2 for absolutely no reason when it should print to the printer at location 1 the user has installed drivers for.

he did mention renaming the printer...

the users get these "error message boxes" on their screen when they print, that tells them it is printing to the printer at location 2. they don't even have the printer at location 2 installed.

the documents do print as normal (on assigned printers at location 1) they just duplicate at location 2.

so maybe it is, as you said, part of the issue being novell.
