Yup those lil cars are awesome! They are really big in Japan for quite a while. You can even change the motor among other things. But they are not totally cheap and are not all that suitable for lil children. I've been waiting for them to get cheaper, so maybe now is the time! So, Admin, where did you get yours? My friend got his from Radio Shack. Also, there is a cool shop at the Great Mall (next to Dave & Busters) That has everything you need to soup up your car...

I'm a big RC car / Model Rocket fan...

I might get my son one of these. I will check Radio Shack for the price.

Fam, please do not get yours from Radio Shack!!! The Radio Shack cars are slower than the real deal Hollifield! :D

I have a Micro Q and the one you see in the picture. I got mine from a "Real" hobby shop in Sacto, I paid $15 each, but prices may vary...

Well, the Radio Shack cars do have a smaller motor...but may I also add that the Radio Shack cars, just like the "Real Deals" are customizable. So you can add motors etc. to make them faster based on your preference. A "Real" hobby shop is GREAT (and $15 is a GOOD price), but Radio Shack is EVERYWHERE, and they carry a large selection of parts for those who wants to customize.

Radio Shack calls them ZIPZAPS (http://www.radioshack.com/category.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F009%5F019%5F000%5F000&Page=1)
I would not rule Radio Shack out completely. If anything you can easily find a Radio Shack so that you can go test one out...

This web site is also pretty good: http://www.microrccenter.com and http://www.char-g.com/faq.asp

I am pleasantly surprised on how cheap they have become...a few months ago, I could not find one for under 50 bucks (maybe because they were imported straight from Japan?)!

I was thinking about "Da Kids" zuriyahe, imagine two kids out side playing with their cars. One has a (Radio Shack) ZipZap and the other has a car from a hobby shop.

Now the kid with the radio Shack car is getting beat and the other kid(s) are clowing him. Peer Pressure is a muvfucka and you know these kids know if you got a slow car or not....so I was saying to save $5 and save your child some embarrasment..

Holla

PS: The last Radio Shack I was in was SOLD OUT!!! of Zip Zaps:D

Good point, Admin, because you are RIGHT about the speed of the Radio Shack cars! The Radio Shack cars start out with a slower engine, but you can upgrade (at extra cost of course... ). Tell that kid that he needs to upgrade his engine

I am not sure of the upgradability of the other cars (I assume that they can be upgraded too). But shoot, the 5 dollar savings is good enough for me!

I'm going to get a car for me (and Little Z). I've seen a lot of cool cars out there, so I will have to shop around.

I wanna race someone soon! Mabye we can have a "HUSH BAY AREA RALLY 2002"...or have a "Hushnic Rally 2003"!:D

Damn, Admin! These cars ARE great! I went to the GREAT MALL (http://www.greatmallbayarea.com/) in Milpitas, CA and got another one! They're cool! My friend at work bought my car, that I got at the Great mall, from me! We're gonna race at lunch.

Thanks for the initial hookup, B.W. ! :beer

I was already a fan of RC, these cars have re-energized my interest in RC!

(Geesh, sounds like a commercial for Big Worm, huh?)
