Do you guys have tribal families and council set up in your families?

For example, on my momma's, daddy's, momma's side of the family,

the family tree starts with my great great great grandparents; from their kids (my great greats) we all take their names as "tribe name" . I am from the Tribe of Messiah (my great great grandfathers' name).

The elders of the family (those who live in Lousiana and are retired) make decisions regarding our family reunion (the only event to "preside" over).

What about any of you?

No, my family doesn't have anything like that.

I said before that I come from "sick stock".

Two of my grandparents were dead before I was born. . .only one got to see one of his grandchildren (my older cousin) who was under two years old.

Most of my cousins grandparents are dead, too. We don't really have any elders in my family and I can't tell you the last time I went to a family reunion. . . .I'm slightly anti-family. . .unless it's someone else's.

Since my momma's famiy is so spread out all ova the place and it's so many of them..Every year for our Family reunion everyone votes for a place and depending on what area is chosen, the folks in that region makes all the decisions and plans the reunion. regions are made up of elders and young folks as well.
