After a 10+ year relationship with Revlon, Cream of Nature, Vitale, Optimum, Soft & Beautiful, and back to Revlon, Rai and the no-lye relaxer are parting ways.
That's right, folks, I am going natural and growing out my perm. I'm doing that by basically wearing braids. Then when my natural hair grows out, I'll cut off the straightened part.
Then, that will be the fun part!

I feel you darling, I made that move about 4 months ago, and I must say I feel so liberated. Never once, amid the stares and questions of "why did you cut off your hair!" did I regret or feel self conscious about my decision.
One thing I will say is, you will need to be creative with your styling techniques, depending on how short you cut your natural hair. I say that because with the perm, there are alot more stying options, than without.
Goodluck , you will love it, regardless of your hair texture or length!

Now Rai don't be one of those girls saying you gonna go natural and then slap some texturizer in your hair.

Toffee. . .that would be my move, either that or to go back to the pressing comb. . .I don't have a problem cutting my hair down to little or nothing but I have a serious problem letting it be in it's natural state. . .I'm way too tender headed.
I applaud the women who can carry it off but I ain't the one. . . so I ain't even going to front like I'd contemplate it.

A lot of women think that the curly stuff they see in commercials is natural hair. But most of the time they are texturizers. So many of the woman say I don't want all those chemicals in my hair. But then run out and get a texturizer like that's not a chemical. NOw if thats the look u want then cool..... But Au natural is Au natural ... no chemicals.

actually, i will grow out the perm by putting in braids. i used to cut off all the relaxer before, and have a short natural. i grew impatient and slapped up the relaxer. (((oh well)))
just wearing the braids enough is liberating to me. i feel like i'm rebelling against society's standards of beauty.
and, don't worry about the texturizers. i am through with chemicals!

The last time I got a relaxer was in late June. I have been braiding it since July. When I take out my braids, WOOO-WEEE! It looks really puffy.:afro
I just can't wait how it looks when all the perm is gone.
