will the lies stop when we are face to face!!!!!!! why do folks lie so so easily over the internet!!!!!

what do u do when u find out somebody is lying on you? but the way u found out was a secret....and if you confront that person...you will betray the person that told u about the lie.

What DO YOU DO?

Because there are no consequences...online, you can be anyone and anyway you wanna be. what is someone gonna do to you? put you on ignore? not respond to your emails? but then, people can lie just as easily face-to-face...same shit, different reality...

que, i suspect, based on your post, this is someone that you already knew, met, face to face?

i assume that you appreciate friendship and so when the lying starts (or continue), it gets ya perturb?

if you choose to confront the person, and they deny it, also make it known to them that you choose not to deal with them anymore.

and though it may bother you to have to do that (cause i sho hate to do it myself, being, i get sorta attached to folks), it will be best.

that way, if anymore lying continue, no one can try and convince you or anyone else that ITS THE TRUTH...

(i hope that makes sense...)

I'm going to go w/Dulce on why people lie.

When somebody lies to me I stop talking to them, I always confront them, let them know that I know they lying. I wouldn't tell them who told, but they probably would be able to figure out anyway, don't mean to start any shit between friends, but people need to know, if you say somebody is lying about something to me or lying on me, they are going to get told the fuck off. That's just how I am. Sometimes I forgive them, sometimes I don't depends on the nature of the lie.

If you don't want to expose the person that told you. Butthen again, if you are all out in cyberspace and will never meet anyway, what does it matter? At the very least , you can take consolation in the fact that you know the real deal, and the person in question is only fooling themselves.

i have come to understand that there are levels of allegiance...levels of friendship...levels of associates...levels of cyber buddies....some people don't care about lying on you cyberly....i mean what can i do about it....it's cyber...it's totally my fault for trusting them with any REAL info...and I only know them cyberly....

I don't think having your trust betrayed equals fault on your part. Like I said before, why would this be different than "real life"? Whether cyber or not, folks can still be backstabbers if that's who they truly are. Once you find out someone's true colors and you don't like the shade - cut 'em off!

yes, i hear ya dulce...

but...because i am que...i don't cut them off...in fact...i oftentimes draw them in closer and closer...no i don't tell them any other REAL stuff, but ... i draw them in because i wanna know the innerworkings of a LIAR...i wanna know what it is in them that makes them think that they can just lie and lie and lie to me....i am very curious that way....but i look at it like combat....

in war you study past campaigns in order to try to understand your future enemies....every military class i have been in has involved some type of study of the past....so that we don't make the same mistakes...

you are drawn to the negative....

Just throwing this out there.....why would you want to draw someone that lies on you, in closer. Why would you want to be on defense when you are around this person? You would not be able to think or speak freely without going over in your head, the what if's. Don't you think that's wasted energy? The person could never be a close friend with that type of character, unless they have some bit of conviction not to lie on friends, but then again they just answered that question for you.

but i just like having maximum human nature informations.....the more the merrier....but i am a very closed person so as for having to think before i speak...it is natural for me to NOT say very much...and when i do say stuff....be vague as hell....hell...even a lil ambiguous.....

again..i have admitted i am wierd.

True, true but if YOU know that they did it, then you can cut them off. It make take a few times because you might not be sure at first but liars always slip up.

And Que - like CD - just can't understand why you would want to have such jacked-up people around you. You can study human nature without drawing negativity into your personal circle. Whether you think you are merely observing or not, that bullshit is a drain on you. Just can't see it...

it is NOT a drain on me. it is refreshing for me to get new knowledge....new information....i process ALL information...not just the positive....negative too.

but please don't think that these people are in any real circle of mine. especially an inner circle.
