Why do people say: WHATEVER?

This is so freakin rude to me.

Definition of whatever:

being who it may be
of any kind : used folloiwing the word that it modifies

Most likely, this is the closest to the meaning folks use when they say this word:

of no matter what type, degree, quality

Yet, at the same time, it blows a person off completely. Especially when you have just recieved an explaination to a topic or question.

Its just rude to me. I have only used it in arguement, and even then, I try to use it properly. When you say "whatever" to me, it makes me feel like

you don't care............

it is the worst worst cop out...

like it gets u off the hook from having to express yourself....

and now we have coupled it with hater...like it's my fault you can't express yourself...

Oooh I know how you feel, I don't appreciate people saying whatever to me either. That is blowing you off and you can just not respond, but don't say whatever.

yeah it's a word to Blow People Off..

It's just like the word nice. Depending on how you say it.. it has different meanings.

Your girl has a busted hair style, she asks "baby how I look" you say in a monotone voice... you look nice.

Your girl puts on some Victoria Se.. fuck that Fredricks and you say all excited,, Thats Nice..

if i say:

girl, he did me wrong i hate him

and you say:

girl! What ever, look at my ring

then i'm go be mad

but if i say:

girl, he told me "suck my dick"..... can you believe that

and you say:

giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirl...... WHATEVER! AS IF?

then i wouldn't be mad, because you are in agreeance with me...



i always add the AS IF to the end to show agreeance.

i still hate the miss use of that word......

I mean the way you hate to for people to use it. Most of the time I am trying to brush they ass off.
But like you are saying just in general conversation i don't mean in that way.

another way i use this word and AS IF:

guy approach me and says

suck my dick

i say

WHATEVER! AS IF!

blowing him off..... AS IF i would really do it........
