I have some questions for those of you that have traveled internationally. My sister wants to go on a cruise this year for her 40th birthday. What's the best destination? She doesn't know where she wants to go.

Next year i would like to visit France and Italy for my 30th birthday (can ya'll believe I am that old?), I have heard of www.goaheadtours.com, does anyone know of any other places?

i know you said she doesnt know where she wants to go ...
but the 1st question is

HOW MANY DAYS does she want to be on vacation ?

international cruises start @ 12 - 14 days .. (you figure its gonna take you about 2 days to get from here (us) to over dere)

as far as flying in and just touring a city or 2 or 3

try
http://www.trafalgar.com/

most companies like trafalgar will offer you tours in multiple cities in a package.

If she goes on a 14 day cruise it will have to be without me. I think she is look for something more like a week.

ok with that said ..
you can get you a nice 6-8 day Mediterranean cruise (europe)

the catch is your crusie will start in europe which means you'll have to fly over seas... Vs departing from the states...

some people like to do that too ...
that way you can fly in to europe 1-2 days early tour the city then embark on your cruise...

some people do the xtra days before or after your cruise....

some people do both 1 day before and 1 day after ...

try some of these cruise lines:

CUNARD
Royal Caribbean
COSTA ( they aint just pasta)

Most other cruise lines WILL be 12 + days

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to check all those sites out. Oh and can you take a dog on a cruise with you?

I did Carnival to Barbados, Martinique & St. Maarten.

I flew into Europe and did a Royal Caribbean Mediterranean there.

This next schedule European is cruising Celebrity X & another caribbean sailing Holland America m/s Westerdam.

Those two mean little or nothing to me........
