Study Finds Porn on One of Four Corporate Computers

The truth of the American workplace rears its naked head yet again. In an audit of 10,000 PCs at 125 business and public sector networks over the last nine months, PixAlert – a company that blocks illicit images on corporate networks – found that 25% contained some form of pornography. The study determined that 46.8% showed full nudity and/or sexual activity; 0.3% were deemed “illegal.”

Q: Can your guess who's PC in your offcie may have some form of porn on it?

I know I have some MP3 files, that I need to delete.

Thats one line I never crossed - I never had anything remotely sexual on my office PC. They started clamping down so that the warning messgae would pop up on all kinds of sites. They banned E-bay because too many people were wasting their time. The tried to ban Yahoo but had to bring it back.

Now that being said, I did bring my laptop to work and hijack an unsed conference call line - had it pre taped running all the way into the conference room. That way, with a local dial up line, the networked system is bypassed entirely. I had to keep a dialup service active, but that was back when I used one anyway.

I have some 'pictures' that I've collected. I guess I should delete them.

Funny Story (to me):

I was using slide.com at work with a montage of wedding pictures. I cut my computer on like always and walked away. I come back and DICK IS EVERYWHERE! on my screen. I"m like what the hell?!

Slide pulled the wrong slideshow and began displaying it. Luckily I get here early and nobody walked by. I took the entire program off my machine - now that bouncing ball from Windows does JUST FINE as a screen saver.

lol! Yes, "Google Picasa" has this same function where they would take pictures from your picture folder and turn them into a little picture gallery on your screen. I have no more than "R" rated stuff on my computer PC...but my home pc....
