Yup. I do...it's great. My job let's us telecummute one day per week. I chose to stay home on Wednesdays. Saves me money on gas with these high ass prices.

My job also allow for my to work from home. We can do it once every two weeks. But this is hard considering all the face time that is needed with the business.

i am working from home right now. i dont have a set schedule for doing so. but when the need arises (say i am waiting for the cable guy or something) i can do so at my discretion. i am actually talking with the other manager at my level about approaching our manager to put a telecommuting schedule together. i would have to give up my flex time to do so (i am currently working an extra hour each day in order to take off alternating fridays) but it might be worth it. i have to sit down and weigh the pros and cons.

We can telecommute in certain situations. For instance last year the office closed because of snow, but we (and only my department) still worked from home.
I've also done it a few times when my son was sick, but it's FROWNED upon.
They want to see your face I suppose.

nope. as an admin, if you have your home pc decked out like your job, or you're given a lap top, its easy to do. but i don't know companies that let admins telecommute. if ya'll know any, let me know.

My employer has presented me with the opportunity to do my job at home. I'm just trying to weigh the pros and cons. It would be at home full-time, only coming into the office for big meetings or special projects. There really isn't a huge advantage for me for accepting it... My morning/evening communte is only 12 miles each way, my kids would still have to be in daycare so there's no $$ saving advantage..... I can totally see my boss calling me at dawn-thirty on a Saturday.. "Can you log on for a little while... "..... I think I might miss face-to-face interactions....
or maybe not.
