Been on here long enough that nearly every thread I start has a deja vu to it.
They have Spencers Gifts at The Garden State Plaza now - makes sense because they are trying to have every store in the world at that big ass city of a mall! But the reason I put this in the Back in the day thread, was because Spencers was the lay for all the all the room decorating doo dads. The Black light brought back memories. The posters, although most of them are bullshit today. Almost - I almost caved and bought the big lighted beer can or the blinking traffic light - damn that would have been corny... but I might go back...
I see where kids are getting these t-shirts... shouldn't there be a restriction on a minor buying a t-shirt that says "Pornstar" on it? These teen girls, certainly looking well under 18, getting "Rich Bitch" and other more explicit Tees. After working retail, I always think about stuff like all the little keychain stuff they have in a place like this, and the hundreds of pocketable trinkets for the hordes of kids that run through that mall. Whew, good luck to those sales people.
But thats not why I started this thread - it was the 70s stuff.... I want a blacklight again. Those glow in the dark, or in blacklight stars would be cool on the basement ceiling, but the tiles are white too, and no way I'm making the ceiling black over all. The big fake aquarium....what kind of sucker buys that, but if I stayed in there long enough I would be tempted.
