View Full Version : How likely is it that you will marry?
Please disregard f your married now but...
How likely do you feel that you will someday marry or marry again if divorce?
Has our society reached a point where marriage is necessary to be happy or is it an unsaid requirement to make your life whole?

and open if i don't. its a blessing one way or the other.
i didn't vote that i didn't care because i do care one way or the other.
i don't know what to say about society except it needs jesus.

I am not sure that I will marry. I go back and forth on how I feel about marriage.
I do not think that our society has reached a point where marriage is necessary to be happy. If anything we see otherwise. People do not get married as much any more.
Marriage does not make a person whole, if you go into marriage thinking that a person completes you, problems will probably arise. I feel that people compliment each other.

Positive that I will remarry. I was told over the weekend to think very seriously of how I wanted my wedding to be and where I wanted my house to be built.

I'm not sure that marriage is perceived as being necessary for happiness or to make your life whole but I think those with a biblical perspective are of the belief that it serves a definite purpose.

Not sure if I'll ever re-marry, just isn't a high priority with me. Guess I've been single too damn long.:hammer

I don't care if I get married or not.. but unfortunately society (and especially the females in your family) think something is wrong with you if you are not married.

OMD - I voted and forgot to answer! Yeah, I'm sure I will marry again but I'm in no rush. I'm enjoying my life as it is but the companionship of marriage would be the icing on the cake. But until then, plain cake is cool...
about the societal perspective...I think it's become less important due to the continuing financial independence of womencombined with the changes in values where single motherhood is not such a stigma and where men don't feel the pressure to marry women that they impregnate.

I hope to marry someday as I would like to have a family. I do understand that I can have a child w/o a husband but I would rather not. If I don't have kids by 36 then I will probably marry much later in life.

I think I'll do it again but Im fine with just shacking up. My views about what makes a strong relationship go beyond spending all that money on a 'wedding'.
Not saying I wouldn't because I've never had one - eloped the first time but a one on one ceremony by the sea between me him and God will do just as well.
