I did not like that movie at all...I hated it as a matter of fact. BUT, I thought she did very well acting...I liked her part!

I don't care for Anne Rice as a writer so I don't think I am any more motivated to see this just because of Aaliyah's death. Didn't her brother or other family member do some of the voice overs for the final editing?

I think she might have been better in the Matrix but I don't think they are going to keep any of her scenes in it since they were trying to film all the sequels simultaneously.

mocha ...why was she walkin like that? A co-worker went to see the movie and she said that she was walking like that because her outfit was heavy. Apparently there was alot of metal to the outfit. I did read on Entertainment Tonight's website that her brother did the voice over, I don't think they had it done before her untimely death. I guess I will wait for the video.

she was trying to be sexy...she is a vampire, that is sexy...I thought that was funny! Naw...I think she just incorporated that walk to be dramatic.

Will not being seeing this. Me and vampire movies don't go so well, i have very bad nightmares. Had one the night i saw the preview on TV, only because i didn't know it was a vampire movie.

And it's not good to have nightmares when you sleep alone.

I got my own "Queen..." at home! (Now I must make sure she never reads this!)

Seriously though, I am already tired reading about of all the Anne Rice worshippers, just like the Star Trek losers, and the Harry Potter followers, are getting all hyped about the portrayal of their beloved author's vision. So many young people, mostly white, are into the whole Gothic genre, and they are quoting the specifics of vampire lore a little too well if ya ask me. In the commercials, Aaliyah is so petite, I have a hard time buying her as all that sinister...if she was saying " Obey me.." I would be sure thing, b-b-babygurl..."

Que.....Do you really think it was bad acting on her part, or the restrictive nature of her character being a demon that made it seem that way?

andre...that's what i meant by her PART sucked....there was really no way she could flourish being that character.....

Her role was severely, severely limited...as such, how much acting could she do?

I thought they were gonna develop this vampire...you know like how she ever became the queen of the damned in the first place...but to no avail hollywood strikes out again.....

I mean the movie wasn't really about her, as far as character development etc...the movie was about the white boy rocker/vampire......

So I too was disappointed in this movie......

yeah...it was wierd...

the movie theatre was PACKED...with black folk....expecting some type of aliyah inspired music and such....

BUT HELL NAW!!! it was about the white boy ROCKER...the vampire Lestat.....ROCK MUSIC all throughout!

I kinda was diggin the music to be honest, but i know those sittin next to me...closed their ears at least twice.

I was playing music the last few weeks for receptions at work, general boozing parties so it was okay to play anything. I looked on Billboard charts and then downloaded Hoobistank, Linkin Park, Default, Foo fighters, Silverchair... Man, you shoulda heard the moans. I did mix it with India Arie, Nelly Furtado, Usher, Faith evans, and Mary J. But somebody was always a critic, so i locked the door to the booth. Ingrates. I should put on Manilow.

Isn't it funny how the black audience would think that? Like maybe Aaliyah was going to be a funky hip hop demon? Come out there with the blood, fire and fangs, and sing " Rock The Boat". The deep growling voice saying " Stroke it for me.. stroke it for me...." Okay, I'm out.

lmao@andre

well, when i seen the clips with lestat and the queen, they didn't even LOOK right.

then when i heard the trailer hook "come out come out wherever you are" i thought, 'it can't be that corny? no body says that anymore...'

i don't like vampire movies, but, i am sure my girlfriend will be coming over tryna pay me to go see it. and as always, i'll take her money and go.

yeah...that was corny....but it fit with the rest of the ... the....plot?

i was a lil rough on liyah....that is before i realized that they voice overed her voice with her brothers....and that is why it sounded all ... all...sorta messed up....well...that stupid accent....HATED IT!
