was arguably one of, if not, the best female group in history, IMO. They had quite a few hits, but which ONE was your favorite?

Mine was "Give it Up, Turn it Loose." I liked all of their voices, but Maxine's was my favorite.

..."Never Gonna Get it"

and I beg to differ on the best in history category.
It's the Supremes.
then the Shirelles.

Dre, Diana never had a great voice. Every member of EnVogue could blow.

Never Gonna Git It
Giving Him Something He Can Feel

They were a great group and had great voices. Another girl group with strong voices was Brownstone.

That's fine - I'm not even comparing that. For example, who can't sing better than James Brown? But you have to consider the lengendary position the Supremes were in, what they were up against - the times, the way they broke ground. Envogue could sing, yes, but their songs will not be on the timeless list of classics. Not if it's done by anyone who is old enough to have experienced the prior eras.

I'm guilty of bias for the older artists. To me, Usher will never beat a Stevie Wonder or a Marvin Gaye, and Boyz 2 Men or New Edition will pale next to The Temptations. Mary J, even Mariah or Whitney compared to Aretha? It's unfair to even force a competition, I guess. When you take these contemporary artists and make a case for the "of all time" claim, I'm going to have something to say. EnVogue did rise out of the wave of girl groups that flooded the landscape back then, and I guess they stayed together as long as can be expected - The Supremes made their changes too.

i loved their songs...hold on...yeah that's the best.

i dug the rock-n-rolly one they did , too.

dawn was on steve harvey morning show a month or so ago and talked ablout how they got screwed money wise. they pulled in a lot of loot, but got dicked on the revenues.

they all could blow, for sure. i'll miss dawn's soulful sound. like mjb, crazy makes for some good sound, and dawn had crazy down. she was the one i wanted to dick the most, too. this rhonda chick looks like she could get it, though.

Rhona was the one who played on The Jamie Foxx show. She worked at the jingle company with him. They sang together a few times too. She does have a beautiful strong voice.

I don't know why the group and Dawn just can't get it together. However, Rhona can definitely blow. At least they have Maxine, who's my fav. I was just bumping their greatest hits cd a while back.

Yeah, D "Free Your Mind" is one of my favs by them.

Cindy Herron was always the one, dating back to the late 70s when she did a PBS afterschool special jaunt.

Good to know I wasn't the only one watching "Up and Coming".
I remember the the guy that played her brother Wolf Perry had a promising hoop career. But that was my show growing up. My brother and all his friends loved them some Cindy.
