Weather permitting.. Some friends and I are planning a trip this weekend.. I plan to get there Friday and we're staying until Monday..

It certainly sounds tempting, since we haven't been since '02 when we met the VA Beach gang. But dang, I don't think we've up for 6-7 hours each way, and the costs so soon after our big trip....Labor Day weekend is top price in the hotels! Partly our fault because we have to go with oceanfront balcony view, and that's now $249 a night:eek:

If we wait a few weeks, it's 144 a night - that would allow for gas from NY, eats, and all. Too bad too, I'm itchin' to see some Hush folk. Okay, and to go to Captain George's!

Bedroomeyes, you said "weather permitting". If it has been anything like up here, the weekend is a washout. Too bad some folks are paying for timeshares and prepaid rooms and can't do anything but sit looking out their windows at the ocean, waiting for The Ark to pull up and dock.

All down the Jersey coast, Delaware, Maryland's Ocean City.... merchants must be cursing Mother Nature. Half my town is out of power. Glad it's not my half.

how was the trip?

It was iffy on the way there Friday, but by the time we arrived friday evening, the rain had stopped and we had sunshine the rest of the weekend!

We stayed off of Newtown road, about 15 mins from the beach.. Andre, you're right about the rooms.. They were a little pricey, not only because of the holiday, but they have the music festival on the beach there every labor day weekend.. Luckly, I have a hook up at the Marriott, so we didn't do too bad...

Took us a minute to find the ABC store but we found it Saturday Morning and hit them up enough for the rest of the weekend.. We spent Saturday and Sunday at the beach, Saturday we watched Midnight Star and Kool & the Gang perform on the beach which was great! They had us dancing in the streets! :D We ended up getting backstage passes.. A lady just walked up to us and said her folks didn't show and asked us if we wanted them.. That was really cool of her.. :hearts:

And Man, Capt. Georges... I had no idea! :eek: We didn't find out about them until Sunday.. We were like, man we should have came here Saturday and Sunday! I will go back to Va Beach just to hit them up one mo gin! :upto:

Sunday, after dinner we needed to walk off some of that food so we went back to the boardwalk, played putt putt, and then we hit up a Reggae club that was pretty cool.. Good looking out Remi.. ;)


Needless to say, we had a great time.. Didn't see any hush folks, but we've decided to do this every year so maybe next time... Hell, yall can just meet me at Capt. Georges! Because we will be hitting them up a couple times next time!

Glad you had a good time......And when you ready to go back......especially to Capt George, LET ME KNOW. I went there when i was on travel last year, TEE was in TRUE SEAFOOD HEAVEN.....I did NOT want to leave.
