Just heard on the radio that Rodman has been charged with raping a california model.. They're saying that he drugged her and then raped her.. What the hell is going on with these celebs!! Damn.. As much trouble as he has been in... You think he would try to keep his name out of shit! :hammer

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) -- A judge ordered Dennis Rodman to stand trial in a $10 million lawsuit filed by a model who charges that the former NBA star drugged and raped her in 1999.

Playboy model Tina New filed a $10 million civil suit last year against Rodman, who said he's never met the woman. A court-appointed arbitrator suggested a $225,000 settlement, but Rodman refused to pay and a judge on Monday ordered a Sept. 23 civil trial.

``I'm angry,'' New said Monday. ``He thinks he can get away with it because of who he is.''

Orange County Superior Court Judge David C. Velasquez appointed the arbitrator, who said New should get $225,000. Rodman attorney Christopher Branch said his client wants a trial.

``The arbitrator's award was excessive and does not reflect the evidence,'' Branch said.

New, the ex-girlfriend of a man convicted of murdering his wife, claims she met Rodman in August 1999 at a Newport Beach bar, and that she turned down an invitation to a party by a man who said he was Rodman's bodyguard.

According to New's lawsuit, after she left the bar, she was kidnapped by an unknown assailant and taken to Rodman's Newport Beach home, where she was forced to drink an unknown liquid that caused her to fall asleep.

New claims that when she awoke, Rodman ripped off her clothing and raped her.

She went to Newport Beach police 10 days after the alleged rape, but detectives were unable to find any physical evidence, the woman said. A district attorney's spokeswoman said no charges would be filed unless evidence of a crime was brought to prosecutors.

New, who appeared in episodes of ``Baywatch,'' was a prosecution witness in the first-degree murder trial of Eric Bechler. In March, Bechler was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the 1997 murder of his wife. Prosecutors said Bechler killed her and dumped her body in the Pacific.
