Stupid Commercials

I know this was a thread long ago, but I couldn't find it.

There are two that come to mind. One is the mlife commercials. AT&T really came up with a winner on this one. :rolleyes: I don't get the point they're trying to make. At first I thought mlife was metlife. The commericials would have made sense for that company, but AT&T? I think not.

The second is a radio commercial aired here in Atlanta about caskets. They make it seem like it's a car lot. The announcer yells "don't get ripped off by the funeral homes ever again". Then he goes on to mention the models they have available, the financing options they have and so forth. That commercial was just cheesy. I pray they don't do one for t.v.

I saw one this morning with a couple in the bathtub with candles and bubbles and a DOG. Then they say "When you love your pet this much you shop at Petco".

I thought that was just disgusting that they were sitting in the same nasty water as they were washing a dog in...and they appeared to be naked.

I do not want dog hair up my butt...thank you very much. :blah:

grey boy at work was tellin me that he showers with his rottie! he said it as if...it was a cool thing to do!

i agree...the at&t marketing V.P...needs to be fired!

If you wanna talk about gross, how about that new Volkswagen commercial.

A man is on the phone telling someone to come down to the dealership so they can buy a silver Volkswagen then another couple starts to walk towards it with a salesman so the fool licks the door handle. EWWWWW. :blah:

Then the announcer goes: "Claim your Volkswagen"

Even my son said "Mom, that's disgusting." :blah:

Just remembered a couple myself. . .

It's a long distance commercial where the man is sitting in the diner and the waitress brings him a sandwich and he says to her. . I didn't want mayonnaise. . . and she takes the bread and wipes the mayonnaise onto the edge of the table and put the bread back onto his sandwich~!! :eek: Yuk~!!!!!


The other one. . .

It's a Levi's commercial where there are about ten different girls trying on the same pair of jeans~!!!! :confused: Of course, at different times~!!

Oh So Precious... that thing with the sandwich was hilarious! It was ridiculous, but I think it was a good illustration of their point that service is so bad these days... That same company has one that has a guy in his car during a heavy rainstorm, waiting for the gas station attendant to come out and pump gas. The kid takes his sweet time getting on his rain gear, then comes out just to flip the sign from "full service" to "self serve" and goes back inside ... I laugh out loud every time at the guy's facial expression! Perfect description of the way so many today regard their jobs.

I used to hate this roach control commercial that would show you a close up of a kitchen counter and then, real close up in your face, they have a big ass cockroach come around the corner and crawl toward the camera. You never had any warning because they would spring it on you in the opening seconds of the commercial. We'd be eating dinner, and BAM, the announcer would say " Roaches!" and there it was. It wasn't a real roach, but it was a very very life-like animation, probably involved with the same animation special effects that they used at the end of the first "Men In Black", and in "Starship Troopers". The key gross out is that they were really up close, going for that repulsion reflex in people that I guess they hoped would send us fleeing to the stores. It takes a lot to make me drop a fork, but I was through after seeing that. That shit would give me the shakes! I always meant to write to the company or somebody, but got pulled, I read because of the uproar about people getting grossed out. I guess i am a punk about that insect magnification stuff. Whenever the nature shows have those close in shots of spiders or bees' faces I get the willies... man, I don't even want to see a lobster's mug! Just gimme the tail and some melted butter!

I don't know if this is stupid or just fucking disgusting but this AM while I'm trying to enjoy my breakfast, some dumbass commercial starts off with "you'll never look at a yeast infection the same way again"! Fuck, I didn't want to see that shit while I was eating...stupid and nasty!
