Fam, yall know my job is crazy, but look at this email I got the other day...

This was an actual emil sent out my our general director. Can you belive this?

==========EMAIL=========
Please refrain from the use of heavy perfumes and colognes in the call center.

We are all working in a confined area and some people are very sensitive to strong aroma’s.

Thank you for your assistance

There was a woman who worked on this floor, who used to wear alot of perfume. It does bother your senses, I guess some people believe if they can't smell it no one else can either. So pour the shit on. That is jacked up that he did that though, he should have talked to the individual who was wearing too much of the perfume/cologne. It is not fair to everyone else in the organization. Just like if someone's arms were funky, you would not tell the whole department, from this day forth, everyone must wear deodarant. What is that all about? Is this a small area? That may have something to do with it.:rolleyes:

the email will do nothing more than make people conscious of the amount that they put on...folks will continue to wear it.

its not fair to limit the perfume of one and not all.

A few idiots make it bad for everyone.

I have asthma and really bad allergies, but a normal amount of cologne or perfume will not bother me.

However too much, can kill me...literally. When I worked at my last job in a call center I had to be taken to the emergeny room in an ambulance because some white girl decided to freshen her perfume for a date later that day. When she walked by my throat closed, I couldn't breathe. I was drifting in/out of consciousness when the paramedics arrived.

It doesn't say don't wear them...just not heavy. A similar e-mail was sent at my job BEFORE and after that incident. People think if it doesn't bother them, it's cool but it's a serious issue.

Well I was the one that was allergic but, I just popped my allergy pills and dripped my visine. I didn't ask her to tone it down a bit until all the men on the floor started to complain.

Did you have to paint me that picture?

I was gonna come down on the side of the boss, because its all a matter of tastes, and so many folks do over douse themselves in the mornings to make it last all day. Somebody can use my phone, and I can tell if it was the dude that poured that bottle over his head! I never really cared for the stuff, so I guess I'm biased. After about 5 mins, I am tired of smelling the same scent, every freaking time I breathe in, no matter how sweet. One of the things that has me addicted to drive in to work is being trapped on a commuter bus with the original Jovan Musk, or Old Spice man, I can get to coughing, eyes start tearing up, when it's thick in the air. There is no shades of grey, if one person in that office has a problem with it, it becomes an issue that has to be addressed across the board. They can't point out the biggest offender without risking a suit. That is surprising though that a predominantly female office would try that move.
