Does your child tell you what to do?
and
What does it mean if he/she does?

No, my kids usually say "Ma will you fix me something to eat". They are old enough to fix their own damned sandwiches.

my son sometimes slip and be like "mom, i'm hungry. i want...blah blah blah" and i look at him like.....WTF! to me, it means he forgets who he's talkin to...
but for the most part he asks for everything.
what's bad is when i am hushin and i forget! then he's like "MOMMY I'M HUNGRY!" then i'm like..."opps, my bad...you want french fries with that?"

My kid's better ask and ask nicely I might add. I dont allow my kids to talk to me any kind of way and I also teach them to have the same respect for other grown ups.

but I will correct there kid's too. If the allow there kid's to talk to them anyway, then who the hell am I...
Hula mentioned something interesting-he forgot who he's talking to. Or another phrase -they don't talk that way to me..WTF then why would you allow them to talk that way to some else.
That why i try to teach mine to talk the same way to all grown ups, not just me. I don't like to play with them that way because kid's get relaxed.
Flipped mouth kid's are worse than kid's who suck there teeth!!!!

My child thank god is polite and a real gentleman. I ask him if he is hungry and he says no thank you and please. Even prays over his food. The new thing he does is fix his own food. I'd have him every other weekend so he wakes up and goes into the fridge, gets his bologna.. puts it in the microwave for 40 seconds.. (20 sec per slice), toasts two slices of bread and makes his sammich. I'll wake up like, dude you hungry.. he says not thanks I already ate.
Who's child is this.

I hate a smart mouthed kid.
My son knows to ask and say please and thank you. He's almost 9 and almost as tall as I am so he does try his luck from time to time but I have to give him the look that Hula mentioned and he remembers who gave him life.

There is nothing worse that a loud mouthed rude assed child. I know that most kids are spoiled to an extent but there is no excuse for disrespect in the home. The twins are pretty self-sufficient, hell there is two of them and only one of me so I taugh them early on that we wouldhave to work together to make things go smoothly.

i think it is very very damaging for a young man...to tell his momma what to do. it sends the wrong message for that young man with regard to women.

I think what happens is... Parents think it's "cute" when the children are small and let them get away with talking smart.. and by the time that child becomes a teenager.. It's too late... That's why I say nip it in the bud in the beginning!!!! :beating
Ain't nothing "cute" about a child disrespecting a parent! :hammer
