i dont know if im seriously going to be searching for a new job or not.

but does anyone have any tips for resume writing since ive got to spruce mine up a bit.

I'd go the library and get Adams Cover letter Almanac (600 cover letter templates for a variety of job types) and What Color is Your Parachute. I found these books helpful. Good luck.

See if there is a free career or employment center nearby where you live. If there is, take advantage of it since you paid for it when you were working. They have resources to help you get your job search together like job search professionals and peer networking.

They'll keep you busy and focused on what you need to do. At least if the center is as good as the local one in Sunnyvale, CA.
