We just came back from our second shot at Doniosaur BBQ in Harlem USA, Manhattan.
NYC area folks, you have to try this joint! It blows away the Fridays or Applebees type wings and things places. The Ribs are excellent and so is the chili. I had the West Texas Rib Eye steak that was so good it was giving me a hard one, and wifey had something called Tres Hombre with ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket. Her sides were collard greens and a good Mac and Cheese, and mine was a decent potato salad. From our first trip, there's something they call Syracuse Sat Potatoes. Maybe the stiffie can be attributed to the house drink called "Donkey Punch" with Rum, Vodka and fruit juice - I might have been risking DUI so I drove to the GWB via Riverside Drive. The Mrs got lit, trying to sing to the banging music on the house speakers. Marvin Gaye, Chaka Khan, Stevie... and this joint is chock full of White folks mixed in with a diverse overall crowd. The staff is mostly Columbia University students. The buzz is out about this joint, at 131 and Riverside(?), but under the Riverside span, across from that supermarket down there. Do takeout if you don't want to do the whole tour. The BBQ wings are incredible, order them plain with the sauce on the side, you might not even want it. They have live Blues entertainment on Friday and Saturday, but I can imagine its packed to the gills. Sunday evenings are manageable.
