thank u sweetie. I just taught myself how to manage my checking account and have no overdraft fees. My goal is NONE for february. I stay so busy and just "do" instead of plan that I mess it up on a regular. Paid over $200 one month in just fees...DAMN. This has to stop. Im feverishly taking notes so when u got em im on it!

my problem was my first account was with a credit union which operates differently from a regular bank so i got off to the wrong start. Everything was instant witht hem...the bank is delayed so i'd get confused but i got it now. And so ur saying, mel, that i should mark what my regular pays should be on a calendar so i know what im gettin not countin extras right? then put on the same calendar all billing due dates. and track spending daily.

Now that is an Amazing story...for me thats way hard to do.....life gets much easier if you can see your money online...The moment a check clears, I can see it.....the moment I get paid I can see it...the moment that the gas card gets used....I see it....

Count just your average take home pay... No over~time... Unless, you average that over~time or commission... If are get a newspaper, a pack of gum, coffee or etc. daily... write it down... Yes, use the sane diary or calendar, you could use two color pens... blue for income and red for debts or spending...
