i thought everyone was eligible depending on how they lost their job. Its only or it WAS only $225 every two weeks or per week or something like that. Thats how it was when i got it 4.5 years ago in maryland.

after i stop working for the state i applied and received 1238.00 month for 8 months.... now days you can do it right over the telephone... she just needs to call TWC (Texas Workforce Commission)...
it's easy and painless... she can call or apply online here

Anyone is eligible as long as the person doesn't voluntary which includes blatant misconduct leave a job. The amount depends on the income earned in a previous period plus an amount for dependents.

hmmm....things must have changed...for us when we got laid off at HP...from the top to the bottom we all got the MAX which was the 225.00. I guess each state is different. I hope i never had to go through that again.

OR you have to start over....
so...she had started over 4 times....because she is a slow typer....
lol
she is NOT A COMPUTER person at all.......has very little to do with them! lol
lynette....could you tell me the procedures...we got some number we sposed to call every two weeks........and they said that they gonna try to find her work...but the work ...has to be within 90% of what she was making before.....

i didnt think we could get it because of
1. ME.
2. Our bank accounts and assets.
And
What is the tax hit for her accepting unemployment?

Taxes shouldn't be an issue when accepting unemployment. Any tax amount would be based on the amount of the unemployment (same scale as income). You can get the tax taken out before actually getting it disbursed. Or pay it later at the end of the year.
