Have you ever been afraid to cry?

I was in church today, praise team just a singing, can't remember the song, but it kept my eyes wet. I wanted to cry, but scared....scared of what....i'm not sure. It seems i can let myself go every place but church, why i don't know.

for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS... i wondered WHY i didn't cry...in the church...

then...1994... it was on... it was so on... Holy Spirit got a hold a me...up in that choir stand... and shook me so hard...

since then... i couldn't NOT cry...even when i am watchin tv ministries...and i know that "GOD IS TRYNA TELL ME SOMETHING" .... i boo hoo...

but to anwser your question...only time i was afraid to cry was when my mom would say some thing WACK and i didn't want to show any emotions and just held it in because i don't want to deal with her "if you cry you are weak" speech...ugh...

I've never had the urge to cry while in church. When my grandfather died I tried not to cry, no one around me was crying, so I didn't feel that I had the right to cry (I had not seen him in 2yrs).

I go to church armed with tissues. Cause I never know when the tears will start fallin.

I cry at the drop of a hat!! Especially if I get really mad.. and it pisses me the hell off!!:rolleyes:

I dont' think I'm afraid to cry, but I have been trained not to. My cousin used to whoop my ass up and down trying to toughen me up... But put on Bambi and I will cry everytime Bambi's mom dies. Punch me in the face and I will just look at you.

I don't think I was afraid to cry but when my 3 week old nephew was in the hospital and they had to pull the plug I was balling like a slave that just got his freedom papers. I Lost it. So hey I cry.. My son makes me so happy that i shed a few tears..

Last time I cried.. Sept 11th, 12 and 13th. I couldn't believe what happened.

I was that way. Now I just let it all hang out. I think it's got something to do with being embarrassed - or at least it was with me. Finally, I remembered the scripture that says if we are ashamed of Him here, He will be ashamed of us before His Father. Also, I remembered where the spirit of fear comes from. Now I have such a good time.

...will cry in church, or releasing frustration, or expressing joy and/or love with my peeps...but when negativity approaches, tears will not come from my eyes...irefuse to allow the "enemy" to see it...then i go home and cry my eyes out in anguish or frustration....strange, huh?:confused:

Not at all. When someone hurts me, I refuse to let them see me cry. I go into my closet and cry. But when I'm happy or feeling sentimental, I do cry. In fact, I cry when my friends cry too. I'm surprised sometimes at how sentimental I am.

i am so feeling you on that!! when i was younger, crying was something that occured only when i was getting my ass beat for something...but now???? :eek: woooooooooo!!!

I don't cry often. But I am not afraid of it. Spent alot of the last year crying because I lost my mom. And it broke my heart because Noodle didn't take it well. She cried herself to sleep every night for six months. And it would make me cry too. Every now and then, when I am at church, if the music moves me, a tear will fall.
