My daughters 17th birthday is the 27th of this month. She begged me to let her have a birthday party at the house since we don't have any furniture in the living room. I was hesitant, but told her I had to run it by my husband.
He said yes, so now she will be hosting her first teenage party at my house. I have a few rules and I pray nothing crazy goes down.
Rules:
1) No smoking or alcohol allowed in or in front of my house.
2) No standing outside talking loud and acting a zip damn fool
3) No fighting or cursing or the police will be called and the party shut down
4) Respect my house and my daughter
5) No nasty freaky shit performed in my house
6) Don't touch my stereo equipment or anything else.
I can't think of any other rules right now, but I am sure I will by next week.
Has anyone here let their teenagers have a party at the house or know of anyone with teenagers that did so? If so, how did it go?

I had 2 friends who allowed there child to have a house party, they had turned 16...they regretted it because, the girls got so excited and not that many people came....and when they did, they came late.

Juicey,
Sounds like you've covered all the bases. But you know teenagers they can always come up with something you didn't think of. Please let us know how the party goes, my daughter will be turning 16 this year and is begging me to let her have a party, the jury is still out on that one.

No way, not at my house. But we do have an activity room and I host my kids party there. We give out invitations so there will be no party crashers.

Your not lying about that. Some of the guys that call for my daughter sound like they are about my oldest son's age which is 22. Most of them look that age too.

do u set an age limit for your daughter's dating?
young girls always want older guys!....the maturity level of the older guy fits a little better with them....

Didn't you see Cooley High..."My Momma said don't nobody be leaning on the breakfront" RTFLOL.
Seriously, I hate to say it...but HIDE YOUR VALUABLES. Kids today are quick to steal.
When my Mom had my neice's 16th birthdayparty at her house one of the girls tried to steal my cell phone. I had laid it down on the table and came back and it was missing.
So I called myself...that lil child tried to hide it under the couch while it was ringing. LOL. Needless to say her behind had to GO!!!

I let my daughter have a party when she turned 16. I had some of the parents over for a little card party at the same time....they partied in the basement, and we sat in the kitchen, at the top of the stairs, and played cards. At times, I think we had more fun than they did, because kids kept drifting upstairs and easing into chairs around the table....

The party is the 25th (friday). The kids can go no further than the guest restroom. The rest of the house will be blocked off. I will be sitting in the kitchen and you have to pass the kitchen in order to get to the bedrooms. I have a baseball bat and a shot gun. I ain't fo no shit because I will use them.
My oldest son lives in St. Louis. If he was here they wouldn't have a very good time. He be patrolling and my daughter can't stand it. But then again maybe he would keep them under control by performing for them.
My daughter does like older guys. She git from her mama. I liked them older at her age too. 19 is the age limit for her. I don't want her dating anyone older than that right now.

Ok, is it really just gonna be you as the only adult...i would strongly suggest a man be there...you never know. I like the baseball thing, got one of those myself.....but be careful with the shot gun....
So what time is the party over....Is she excited?

The party will be over at 1am. I will probably be the only adult there. I may have my husbands cousin and her husband come over and sit with me.

I don't think it would hurt to have a little more adult presence there depending upon how many will be there.

I was the DJ for my neices party for the past 4 years and we had a guest list and dayum near a velvet rope. We live in the boonies and we would do sweeps to get the kids away from the dark areas of the yard. They also know about the non-alcohol rules of the house. We had it covered. and the kids knew better than to try some shit with me and my nephew around. We had all those kids shook. They always said that we had the best parties because we made it real interactive, Karaoke, we made those kids dance.. took out all of the chairs.. We rocked the house.

Well the party is in full swing right now. Its noisy, but everyone is behaving themselves. We thought someone was smoking, and I thought I was going to get the privilage of throwing someone out, but my girl turned on the lights, turned down the music and announced to the room that there would be no smoking or drinking inside or outside her home. So far everything is going good and no one has acted a fool yet. Its only 10:47 and they have until 1:00am to party.

Yes, I was proud of her. She was handling thangs. I just happened to be standing in the hall and I heard her yell at someone "Nigga, get yo ass off my table. Whats wrong with you". I sent my son in there to tell her to stop cursing.

Just about everyone showed and seem like they brought a couple folks with them. She came in the kitchen and said, "Ma, I don't know half the folks in there".
I was alone with the kids until about 11:30 when my husband came home from work. Everything went well.
