How come no one is replying to my resume? I think it looks good, sounds good, short...

I'm applying for positions that I have experience in... I have faxed at least 35 resumes in since last week. I got one phone call from a security guard place... but since I jacked the test up... better luck next time..

could be because there is still a lot of competition out there.... some of the jobs i have been seeing have the nerve to ask for a 4 yr degree doing data entry for 10.00/hr... cause they know they can..... at this time..

Maybe you are not doing anything wrong. There are alot of people out of work right now, especially in your area.

One week is not a long time to be looking for a job with no replies.

We're hiring and it usually takes us three weeks to get back to someone who sent a resume in to us. I have so many resumes sitting on my desk of folks we don't want. I feel bad...

The job market has gone from bad to worse in Texas. We all know why, but anyway, I feel you TH. I've been looking for retail work on the weekends and have come up empty. Good luck.. keep truckin'.

my email is listed above...

but it takes a good month or two to find a good position.

WHERE do you want to live?

If you open yourself to MOVING you open up your probability of being hired MUCH MUCH quicker.

And some places are hired cleared people for FEMA....u may wanna check in to that.

Also...HALIBURTON....is hiring as they seem to have found some WORK down in the new orleans area

if u r open to overseas..........there are lots of opportunities.....my sister is an HR manager in iraq......GREAT MONEY...but u ARE in iraq......in a safe zone, but...THAT can get...monotonous.

I've been out of work since December except for a brief period of working a temp job for 3 months.

I send out dozens of resume's every week. I've had a few interviews but no job offers.

I'm registered with 5 different temp agencies. I get work for a day or two here or there but nothing permanent.

I've even applied to places like McDonalds, Burger King, just anything to have an income.

I'm OVER QUALIFIED and they won't hire me because they think I will quit in a few months. (I probably will) but that's beside the point. lol

I don't know a time limit but I've known people to search for over a year or more. It's rough out there.

It's not the end of the world.

I'm broker than broke was before he was broke.

But I haven't missed a meal, I have a roof over my head, a car in my driveway, and clothes on both me and my child's back.

Somehow...someway...God always provides.

If you're interested in working with children, there's always substitute teaching. You can easily apply. This would provide some type of income while you're searching for a permenant job. I'm not sure how much they pay per day in TX, but considering the area you live in, the school system should be large enough that it pays a good amount.
