I keep forgetting the answer to this question so I decided to ask it here. That way when I forget I can just do a search ;)
When emailing a resume are you supposed to cut and paste the cover letter and resume in the text of the email
Or
Do you cut & paste the cover letter in the text of the email and say you are attaching the resume?
Or
Do you send an email saying that your cover letter and resume are attached?
Help a sista out. Thanks!

It all depends on the people you are sending the resume to. Most companies like for you to cut and paste it in the body of the email, because of the fear of virus thru attachements.
I normally cut and paste, unless advised otherwise.

Most of the companies I deal with want attatchments so they can print them out.
I've never pasted a resume in the body of the message.

Depends on the industry. In the tech indusrty if you send a cover letter it's like shooting yourself in the foot.
Either way, best measure is to cut and paste the cover letter in the message body of the email as well as sending it as and attachment and attaching your resume to the email separate from the cover letter. That way the HR person can forward on your email to other managers and they can choose what to print to hard copy.
Hope this helps

Yes I do the same. Although sometimes I paste just the coverletter and attach the resume.
