Neneh Cherry remembers 1990 as 'intense' it was the year her debut CD Raw Like Sushi - propelled by the top 10 hit "Buffalo Stance" earned her a grammy nod and garnered her the distinction of appearing on EW's premiere cover. But a scary thing happened amid the applause: "I got slightly insecrue about my work," she says. She retreated in 1996 back to her home country of Sweden, where she continues to live with husband/collaborator Cameron McVey and daughters Naima, 22, tyson, 16 and Mabel 3. Now a 40 year old Grandmother, Cherry has kept a low profile while recording several unfinished albums and making obscure cameos on CD's by Groove Armade, Gorillaz and brother Eagle Eye Cherry, among others. She's resurfaced in Europe with a new band, cirKus.
