Teen who was hanging out in garage is shot to death

AURORA -- An Aurora teenager died after he was shot while hanging out with three friends in a neighbor's garage Saturday night.

Larvelle Lane, 18, of the 1400 block of Andover Lane was shot in the head about 9:10 p.m., police said. He died early Sunday in Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.

Lane was in the garage in the 1400 block of Andover Lane with three friends when several shots were fired from woods east of the garage, police said. Officers searched the area, but could not find the shooter.

The motive for the killing is unclear, police said.
