Since it is thru Technology that we have had the opportunity to meet each other to begin with - and ultimately it's technology that keeps us in touch with one another - (and I'm sure after this many hushnics - this HAS been discussed) -

Why doesn't Hushnic become more of a celebration of brother/sistahood both online and off?

I mean what is keeping those of us not fortunate to go - from experiencing the 'sentiment' by having an on-line Hush Live of sorts ourselves.

I don't know where people are live chatting anymore - but Paltalk etc. is still in existence correct?

Why don't Saturday nite - we all meet up and chat?

But I hope that eventually, the hushnics will incorporate this. I think that it would be EXCELLENT advertisement for future Hushnics....that is if we want more to attend Hushnics.

All it takes is a highspeed connection, a computer/laptop and a webcam.
Heck, with wireless technology, we can put multiple laptops around hushnic live and have folks log in and see. Very good idea, if ya ask me.

Hushlives are very very human in nature. Don't have to have been there to understand the concept of Hushnic or Hushlives.

It's all about how willing one is to look at the big picture...and look ahead. As Gammite once said. The Macro picture vs the Micro picture (or something like that)

I understand the need to not want to change things. The "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is a very human and valid trait.

But please, you have been to more than one hushlive. Please. Tell me the one ways or the other ways. :D

Here is my 2 cents..........

I don't think that there should be any web cams.

Last year I remember reading all the posts and seeing the pics of last years Hushnic and that made me wish I was there.

This will be my first one and if the circumstances are in my favor to attend another one I'll be there........ but if finances and family don't let me go then I would have to sit it out and wait for the reports and pics.

I don't think it's fair to the people who spent money, flying out here, and having to make hotel/sleeping arrangements that other people can watch what is going on in the comfort of their own home.

As expensive as it is to travel and have enough money to still have a good time when you get here I don't think it is fair.


Just my oppinion.

The webcam will not replace hushnic. If anything, it can give some folks a 'taste' of hushnic. To me...it is more like a live invitation to future hushnics.

And it is really easy to do if ya got high speed and a pc and a webcam.

The hush is about being online. I don't think that it is too much of a stretch to have some minor online elements to hushnic.

I think that it is a great idea. But perhaps it is an idea that is ahead of its time. The hush just isn't ready. Maybe some day they will.

A Yahoo Web cast is not going to record anything. Ya just log on and watch. Maybe someone will walk up to the camera and toast the webcam. Who knows?

Again my suggestion was for the people NOT going. Like if me, brite, juicey etc. met saturday nite with mikes etc. and just kinda hung out at the same time as hush live was going on or something. The conversation shifted to the whole, recording/taping the actual hushnic celebration.

Yeah. I don't think that I advocated the webcam to be a taping device. Although I do like the idea of parts of hushnic being taped. But I think that the webcam idea is a great one...but maybe when the hush...and admin...is ready.

And I agree, it would be a great thing for those hushers that could not go. The Webcam could NEVER EVER replace actually being there....but for those who may have not come...it might have been a great PR.
