I rarely pamper myself but lately I have been going bi weekly to get a pedicure and my eyebrows waxed. This weekend I went all the way and got myself pampered. I got my first design on my nails and my toes :p *whoohoo* with a rhinestone. I'm a pretty plain person so this is a big step for me. Designs on toenails seem a lil ghetto to me; but its not so bad to be a lil ghetto cause I think its Keeyute.( A french pedicure but instead of white tips I got a nice shade of pink). I also got my hair done (Bronz-yish high lights) and a straw set. So its funky looking. I would post a pic but something is up w/ the web cam. Anyway I feel like new money! This is a totally different look for me. To be tailored and done up for I am very cheap person, lol. So this was a good treat for myself.

Okay question time... :D

When was the last time you changed your look including your stlye of clothing?
Does it enhance your self esteem?

Awww, that sounds cute.

It's something about pampering yourself that gets you feeling like a million bucks.

I got my mani/pedi yesterday and of course, I think I'm the shiiiiiiddd!!!

Shout out to OPI's Cha-Ching Cherry and these cute ass sandals.

I originally saw them in a gorgeous bronze color. . .however, they didn't have my size and why did the devil saleslady have to bring me out the gold & silver instead. . .I naturally had to have both because it was 50% off your second pair.

I think hands down (no pun intended) OPI has the best color formulations.

With as many hot colors as they have out, I can easily rotate.

Now, you know. . .my frugal (CHEAP) ass has the foot spa to be able to do this at home because I'm so persnickety about chipped polish and I like to change colors often, sometimes everyday.

I usually just do the pedicures because I love sitting in the massaging chair and getting my back kneaded and I think the combination of half hour in a massage chair & pedicure is worth $30 but every now and again I will go "all out" and throw in a manicure.

For some reason I don't like the traditional french manicure on me but I can handle the ones that use shades of blue, lavender or mint green. . .something along those lines.

I started to get designs on my toes, too but I will do that next time since I'll be on my back and have nothing better to do than stare at my feet. . .LOL

my salon is pretty cool. It was funny cause when I walked in they were like "Where's the little momma" Shame they know HER and not ME. It's next to my hair dresser so while I get my hair done - I send her over and she gets her nails and feet done (barbie pink of course, lol)

My duo costs $32 and they use the wax parrifin (sp) free - that was kinda kinky all that hot wax, lol lol

It's been two weeks and mine are still looking good. The french manicure kinda stubbyfies (is THAT a word) my fingers. Next time I just want polish. It's a classy look however. I don't like the french on your toes - that's stupid, lol

I usually do mine because like you I change colors weekly, lol that's why I said nice for the summer - but I will pay CLOSE attention to all that he does and go buy me the supplies.

Have you seen the artificial TOE NAILS? LOL

I don't do the acrylic part but when I was in the store and saw press-on toe nails, I had to wonder what kinda accident or nailbed someone has been in to require or desire those.

The salon I go to runs a special for $42, I think normally it's $48-$50 so that's another reason why I just do a pedicure every 3 wks. because I figure I can justify $10/wk.

For some reason, the french manicure is what you see most of but I've never cared for it because it blends too much into my complexion. . .I prefer contrast, hence, the bright colors.

Ummm, I don't know personally :upto: but I heard that hot wax as part of your sexual repertoire is tha' shiiiiiittttt.

I don't have arcrylic - I've always had nice healthy strong long nails. I have to fight in three languages to keep them from doing that 'let us cover them to make them strong' bullshit and then ruining my hands. I have had this set of nails for almost a year and I just broke over the weekend my thumb dammit! but I know how to keep some nail and make sure they keep growing out. So I peeled this one and then re-frenched it myself, lol so I do have on CLOSE inspection, one janky nail on my right hand, lol lol

I guess mine look okay as far as being a decent length, shape but when I am bored I can get to picking with mine and create a problem that didn't exist. . .I just jacked up two of mine so my right hand isn't as uniform as my left. And since that tends to bug me I will probably take the color off and go back to just using Healthy Hoof until they even back out.

I don't do the acrylic because with low-iron/anemia the doctors are always keeping an eye on your nailbed to display any deficiencies.

I had fake big toenails once. I was going on vacation and wanted to be cute but I broke my real toenail down to the lowest possible level and had to get both toes done to even the look out. It took FOREVER for that thing to grow out. I swore I would never do that again.

To be honest I dont really care for the french thing, cause that only hides potential dirt that can be seen. If you gonna color them match your outfit.

Nice nails not that long works great.

Toe nails, color them bad boys. Something about some red toe nails freshly cleaned in some nice sandals and a skirt right above the knee......OH MY....you would be in TROBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBLE :D

I just went back to my first sf nail shop because the third one i went to didn't have the colors i wanted. (yeah i could have brought my own, but, i'm not in that habit either). (the second nail shop, whereas the finished work would be great... they were cuticle cutter happy and after two painful visits, i gave them up. the fourth shop i went to, again, great mani and pedi, but cutter happy and $20 more... uh... NO)

I go and they have new colors, but only one looks good; its a gold color that i like but wasn't in the mood for this week, and yet, i had her apply it. i had wanted the american manicure but since my (acrylic) were messed up these last few times the reddish polish i had on before would have made american mani look horrible. at this point, i decided i'm just going to go back out to fairfield and get my nails done at KIMS because Yung never had that problem and can fix anything! she'll prolly be mad at me for 'cheating' on them (her and husband own) but i've been reduced to stop being lazy on saturday mornings and just take that drive up the road.

I found a good replica of Cha-Ching Cherry......it's Sally Hansen's Cherry Pop. It has a little more sparkle but the color base is the same and @ $1.84 vs. $7.50 you can't go wrong.

I ended up ordering these colors.
